In Atrahasis, there is a similar theme that the gods were annoyed with the human meddling that was causing so much drama. It was this annoyance which then caused the gods to intervene with those human affairs, the Trojan War in the Iliad and the great flood in Atrahasis. In the Iliad Book 15, there is also another reference made by Homer to the Babylonian poem. The passage of lines 184-189 calls Zeus the cloud gatherer, referencing to the symbolic storm and subsequent flood that is about to wipe out countless Greek and Trojan soldiers. Thus, Homer is comparing Zeus dealings in the Trojan War to the setting off of the flood waters which Atrahasis portrays earlier.
