Whilte the concept of the LMX theory seems reasonable, and one can certainly identify the players and the steps within an organization based on the theory, the quality of the theory itself seems limited in addressing different personality tyhpes of both leaders and subordinates. Most workplace activities require negotiations, but these negotiations are quite dependent upon the style and ability of the group leader, how much faith and trust they engender, and the potential consequences of being honest about ones feelings towards work.
