Treatment Recommendations

1. The councilor should involve the patient's parents in treatment sections in order to motivate or influence the patient's perception of the treatment

2 the best method for treatment in this case is behavior modification approach; in this case, the patient should be educated on the consequences of drug use. The patient should receive rewards if she managed to modify her drug use behavior for a specific period.

3. To help the patient avoid drugs, she should avoid areas in which there is easy access of drugs and alcohol. Mostly, the company she keeps might influence her drug use behavior. An environmental limitation would work because of the lack of easy access to drugs and alcohol.

Drugs such as Disulfiram can help the patient stop drinking. Disulfirum causes a stomachache when one uses alcohol; thus one is discouraged from taking alcohol.
5. The patient should use Acamprosate (campral), medicine that reduces the desire for alcohol and other drugs.

6. The client should use ant anxiety medicines for the purpose of treating withdrawal symptoms. Seizure medicines such as Dilantin can decrease immense withdrawal symptoms.

7. During recovery, the patient should ensure proper nutrition to ensure the body recovers lost vitamins. The patient can use medicines that contain vitamins and supplements, for example, Thiamine. This is crucial because it prevents complications that may lead to brain damage.

8. In the situation of nicotine dependence, nicotine replacement is preferable. The process involves the use of nasal sprays or nicotine inhalers (Sadock, et al., 2008).

9. Antidepressants and varenicline are suitable for increasing amounts of dopamine in the brain, and, therefore, recommended. In addition, the combination decreases the effects of withdrawal symptoms (Sadock, et al., 2008).

10. In the case of marijuana dependence, Pharmacological treatment approaches are suitable for reducing withdrawal syndromes. Drugs such as Bupropion and Nefazodone are suitable for this purpose (Dziegielewski, 2010).
