What are simple instructions for writing about the organizational analysis of any company?

Im taking a class about organizational analysis and trying to draw a map for personal use on the steps to effective organizational analysis in mind map or steps in map form for easier consumption and understanding from myself. Im more interested in simple implementation steps and examples. Just need help drawing a non-confusing mental picture.
