As a young girl, Tonia was living in a humble household in Texas. As an adult she moved to study at Achieve League Academy in Minnesota as she lived with the aunt Melanie Gibson (RIP) after which she joined International Academy in Miami for her high school education from 2002 to 2005 and later Albany Medical College in New York for her degree in dentistry and subsequent masters degree in the same in 2009.

Her hands-on career began at New York Presbyterian Hospital where she worked till her death. As a care giver, a comforter, an empathizer, a consoler, an adviser and a professional medic, she was held dear by the hospital staff and the patients she interacted with once, or several times on dental check ups.

The case had 14 appeals, numerous motions, petitions and hearings in Florida courts, five suits in the Federal District Court; Florida legislation struck down by the Supreme Court of Florida; a subpoena by a congressional committee in an attempt to qualify Terri for witness protection; federal legislation and four denials of certiorari from the Supreme Court of Florida (Jacoby 2005). The courts continued to hold that Terri was in a permanent vegetative state (PVS), and an autopsy showed that most of Terri's brain had atrophied.

Microorganisms essentially invade larger bodies or substances and cause disease or the spoilage of food. Pasteur's work is called the "germ theory of disease" and has been the rubric of scientific understanding of disease ever since. His work with the silkworms and with the wine industry extended to his working with diseases that affected farm animals and human beings.

Pasteur's initial work with farm animals addressed the problem of anthrax. Anthrax was a disease primarily affecting France's cattle and sheep populations, crippling the agriculture industry. Many people argue that moral concepts allowing us to distinguish between right and wrong come from religion, humanities, philosophy, law, and ethics -- but not science. Science, they argue, does not deal with morality because it does not make any value judgment. According to them, science can only tell what is possible but not what is right or wrong. And even some scientists hold on to this position. For example, in an essay critiquing the concept of "scientific morality," Sean Carroll, a theoretic physicist, argues that you cannot derive "ought" from "is" because "science deals with empirical reality -- with what happens in the world, i.e. what 'is,'" and that is it (Carroll). Miriam O'Brien began her teaching career in 1959. After several years hiatus in the mid-1960s, during which time she gave birth to two children, Mrs. O'Brien returned to the classroom in 1967. She remained there until her retirement in 2002. Another difficult situation arose while I was in college that gave me further insights into my interests. My younger sister, 16-years-old, was living in Florida when I was studying in Baltimore. She became addicted to ecstasy and had to go into rehab. Rather than go back home when she left this care, everyone in the family thought it would be best if she was away for a while from this environment that caused the addiction in the first place. She came to live with me for three months while she worked on becoming stronger. Although she had a small relapse when returning home, she recovered and is doing much better today. Based on the information currently available, the Canadian health care system is the more utilitarian and is, therefore, the better approach but those facing the need for advanced and expedient care would certainly argue otherwise.
