I want you to write:

1. beauty and the digital marketplace (focus on consumer behavior in the UK: aging, lifestyle, buying behavior, psychology, people relationship...etc.) and relate to beauty

2. online platform, technology and innovation (you can follow the structure of the ppt, but we need some new case study)

I'm gonna send you my research report, you can edit in my report.
So, my research report is too focus on online buying behavior at the moment. I think is not right, going wrong with topic. we should looking consumer buying behavior, not just online buying. It should be more flowing how digital use to make consumer purchasing beauty product at online or offline environment.

and this report is all about research, so, data, case study is really important.

I am doing my Master thesis.

This is the question I need help with:
?Words carry the message. They would carry the same meaning with or without paragraphing. Therefore, paragraphing has no effect on communication?. Discuss your view of this statement and provide an example which supports your analysis.

Notes from class
Design your paragraphs for clear communication by following these standards:
? Give the paragraphs unity
? Keep the paragraphs short
? Use topic sentence effectively, usually at the beginning but sometime within and at the end of the paragraph
? Leave out unessential details
? Use transitional devices for coherence

The reaction paper needs to cover these two papers which are relevant to metadata and addresses the following points:
-What is main content of the papers?
-Why is it interesting in relation to metadata reflected in both readings?
-What are the weaknesses of the papers, and how could they be improved?
-What are some promising further research questions in the direction of the papers, and how could they be pursued?

Reaction papers should not just be summaries of the papers you read; most of your text should be focused on synthesis of the underlying ideas from both papers, your own perspective on the papers, and thinking on how the content of the papers relates to the metadata subject. Please state at the beginning of the paper bibliographic references to the two papers discussed therein. You should format these references and follow the citation style according to the IEEE reference formats.

The reaction papers are weighed on a 10 point scale:

-Presentation (2 points) : Points will be awarded based on clarity in preparation and coherence of ideas presented.

-Content understanding and summarization (4 points) : Points will be awarded based on the demonstrated understanding of the content of the two papers and that way in which that understanding demonstrates an understanding of metadata

-Synthesis (4 points) : Points will be awarded based on the depth of analysis of the relationship between the papers, critique of their content, and integration into the issues raised in the metadata subject.

Title: System Design: Oahu Base Area Network

1. Prepare a 4 page paper (350 words per page) that analyzes a work-related project specified in the attached Analysis paper describing a workplace application architecture and process design.
2. Apply the tools of systems analysis to describe a work-related information system?s architecture in terms of data, processes, interfaces and network.
3. Draw the physical data flow diagram(s) If you cannot do this leave a header from me to insert in paper.
4. Use Visio to prepare examples of flow charts and data flow diagrams. If you cannot do this leave a header for me to insert in paper.
5. This assignment incorporates transition from analysis to design for the selected business system. Cite and discuss 3-4 references in addition to the required readings and relevant to the assignment.

System Analysis: Oahu Base Area Network
This paper will examine and discuss the Navy?s decision to build the largest local area network (LAN) linking the U.S. Pacific Fleet using information-gathering techniques and design methods. The system links sailors and marines within the 102-million square miles of the Pacific Fleet?s command coverage. And will provide the necessary access for supplying and training the U.S. Navy.
The Oahu Base Area Network (OBAN) will be the largest LAN in the world when all the phases are complete. Phase one has been completed. Other phases have begun in San Diego, the Pacific Northwest and the Pacific Far East, following the original business model (Kaylor, 2000).
What is unique about this system, other than the fact that it will be the largest of its kind, is that it will be one LAN, not a series of bridged networks. This will allow all of the Naval forces throughout the Pacific to utilize interactive networking to have access to information.
The benefits of this system will be far reaching and the Naval force involved will have access to the cutting edge advantages of the digital world.
System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
According to the Introduction to Business Systems Analysis (Curtis, Hoffer & Valacich, 2002), there are steps that are necessary in the evaluation and development of a business information system. The steps must be followed sequentially in order to insure that there are no gaps or loss of essential information to make an informed decision.

Basically, these steps include but are not limited to:
? Defining the scope, objectives and requirements for the project
? Conducting a feasibility study
? A systems analysis
? Outline of the intended model design
? Physical specification for the proposed design
? Documentation and procedures
? System after implementation
? Report on evaluation and maintenance
In the case of the OBAN system, it was important that significant analysis be conducted for the needs, requirements and objectives of completing this system. Most important was to create a system that would link the entire fleet and provide information quickly.
According to Introduction to Business Systems Analysis (Curtis, Hoffer & Valacich, 2002), the steps involved in the business analysis process to construct this LAN will be analyzed and evaluated. The most important step in the successful development and implementation of any new business system or the enhancement of an existing system is to determine the business requirements and issues for that system.
The Navy wanted a single system that would allow all of its users access to information quickly and easily. One of the key factors was the sheer size of this system. With a system of this magnitude, the Navy determined that fiber optic cable would provide the necessary bandwidth to link the seven command facilities in Oahu and provide the speed needed for multiple users (Kaylor, 2000).
In addition, the Fleet needed to deploy one system that would allow a significant number of users to share information and virtually link an area that is as large as half the surface of the earth (Kaylor, 2000).
System Analysis
According to Rick Kooker, Director of Information Systems for the Pacific Fleet, interviews and assessments were quick to determine that the old system, which could link 20 users and support up to 40 computers, would never handle the need for true data integration for the number of users that had now grown to over 4,000 users (Kaylor, 2000).
With this type of project, as with any business case, the key is to manage the requirements stage and to apply practical solutions and methods that will mesh the requirements with technology to create a robust system environment (Kaylor, 2000).
The OBAN project made proper use of early problem definition to capture of essential requirements and finally, the analysis of a logical system design. The result is the largest LAN system using asynchronous transfer mode (ATM), which combines voice, data and video onto a single network (Kaylor, 2000).
Support was another key issue. 24-hour support for users needed to be provided and required more than 120 technical staff to address issues concerning enhancements, upgrades network-wide support. The Navy realized they would need additional expertise to be able to maximize the potential of the system, which has over 300 separate databases (Kaylor, 2000).
The system that has been created to date ensures that the business rationale and requirements that were initially identified provide a solid foundation of the analysis.
Business Process Re-engineering (BPR)
Business Process Re-engineering is involved in implementing new workflow for an area that is either being downsized or being created due to mergers or expansions. A term in the business world, ?Think out the box?.
The Chief of Naval Operations, Admiral Vern Clark has directed that the Navy will study all non-core functions through either competitive sourcing or privatization while all core functions will go through Business Process Re-Engineering (BPR) to achieve efficiency savings. BPR will be applied to the internal and external functions and operations and is expected to be a primary savings tool for the Navy (http://www.ndw.navy.mil/Headquarters/sir/bpr.html).
Conclusion
It?s evident from the success of the initial stages of OBAN that the Navy has developed an efficient and effective tool for use in the digital age. According to Rick Kooker, Director of Information Systems for the Pacific Fleet, ?the capabilities offered to the sailor on Naval Station Hawaii are now identical to those on the Pacific Fleet Commander in the Chief?s workstation. While he may have a few more services available for tactical or special needs, the basic services, hardware and processing speed will be the same (Kaylor, 2000).
The new system provides enhanced capabilities to thousands of users, who will be able to access everything from their service record to videos online. Along with access to critical information, it is envisioned that there is the potential for endless applications for the OBAN.
Introduction to Business Systems Analysis (Curtis, Hoffer & Valacich, 2002) provides a comprehensive overview of systems analysis and design tools for using technology to launch systems and processes that can be effectively united under a common infrastructure. OBAN is such a project.
The OBAN system will continue to face challenges as does any new system, but by continuing the process of Business System Analysis and Business Process Re-Engineering for each phase of the project, the Navy will increase their chances of developing a flawless system that will provide an array of applications to a large number of users.

(Lesikar, R. V., Flatley, M.E., & Rentz, K. (2008). Business communication: Making
connections in a digital world (11th ed.). Boston, MA: McGraw-Hill.)

The class just started a couple of days ago, so we are only covering chapters 1&2.

This is the question I need with: A fellow student says. "So, I'm not a good writer. But I have other places to put my study time. I'm a management major. I'll have secretaries to handle my writing for me." Give this student your best advice, including the reasoning behind it.

I need help with the following question:
Explain when the direct order is appropriate in inquiries. When would you use the indirect order? Defend your remarks with examples.

The class is ?Organizational Communications?

Class notes:
? The routine inquiry is a basic direct-order message.
o Begin it with a request?either (1) a request for specif information wanted or (2) a general request for information.
o Somewhere in the message explain enough to enable the reader to answer.
o If the inquiry involves more than one question, make each stand out?perhaps as separate sentences or separate paragraphs.
o Consider numbering the questions.
o And word them as questions.
o End with an appropriate friendly comment.
? When responding to inquiries favorably, you should begin directly.
o If the response contains only one answer, begin with it.
o If it contains more than one answer, begin with a major one or a general statement indicating you are answering.
o Identify the message being answered early, perhaps in a subject line.
o Arrange your answers (if more than one) logically.
o And make them stand out.
o If both good- and bad-news answers are involved, give each answer the emphasis it deserves, perhaps by subordinating the negative.
o For extra goodwill effect, consider doing more than was asked.
o End with appropriate cordiality.

I need help with the following question:
What information might go into routine operational reports for different kinds of organizations? Explain why an organization or an organization that you work for would need this information regularly?

Among the varieties of short reports, five types stand out.
? Routine operational reports keep others informed about company operations.
o Their form and content will vary, depending on the organization.
o They should deliver the required information efficiently, clearly, and on time.
o Special word-processing features can assist you with standardized reports.
? Progress reports review progress on an activity.
o Most are informal and in narrative form, but some are formal.
o They should emphasize the positive.
? Problem-solving reports help decision makers choose a course of action.
o They can be internal or external.
o You will need to decide whether or not to make recommendations.
o You will need to decide whether or not to take a direct or indirect approach.
o Though not persuasive per se, these reports do need to convince with their good data and analysis.
? Audit reports hold organizations accountable to certain standards.
o The most common type is the financial audit prepared by an accounting firm.
o Short financial audits follow a standard format.
o Longer audit reports vary in form and content.
o The Sarbanes-Oxley Act has increase the need for audit reports.
o Meeting minutes, a type of descriptive report, provide a written record of a group?s activities and decisions.
o Most are distributed by memo or email, but their layout varies.
o Typical minutes include common preliminary, body, and closing items.
o Minutes have political implications. Use good judgment when preparing them.

Need help with the following question:
On a recent trip to India, Mr. Yang, a prominent Chinese executive, dined with his client Himanshu Jain. Mr. Yang commented that the food was spicy, which Mr. Jain interpreted as an opportunity to discuss Indian cuisine. After lengthy explanations, Mr. Yang commented again that the food was spicy. What happened? What barrier is likely getting in the way of clear communication and how could this barrier have been overcome.

(Lesikar, R. V., Flatley, M.E., & Rentz, K. (2008). Business communication: Making connections in a digital world (11th ed.). Boston, MA: McGraw-Hill.

Adapted from Danielle Medina Walker, Thomas Walker, and Joerg Schmitz, Doing Business Internationally: The Guide to Cross- Cultural Success, [New York: McGraw-Hill, 2003] 237.)

This may very well be a story with which you are personally familiar. Between April 17, 2011, and April 19, 2011, the Sony PlayStation Network (PSN) was hacked. Personally identifiable information (PII) on some 77 million users was compromised. On April 20, Sony announced that it was taking down the PSN site, preventing owners of PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable consoles from participating in any online activities on the PSN network. What followed is a story you cannot make up.
The outage lasted for approximately 23 days, until May 15, when Sony began bringing some gaming services back online on a country-by-country basis starting with North America. During the 23-day outage, Sony postured, hoping to downplay the significance of the breach. At first, Sony understated the number of user records compromised. Periodically, Sony stated that it had the situation under control, that it had developed a clear and concise strategy for bringing services back online, and that things would be up and running within a few days.

In the end, Sony admitted that its PlayStation Network had been the target of one of the largest data breaches ever. It offered free game time for returning customers and other perks. It even announced that it was paying for $1 million in identity theft insurance for each of its compromised users. The insurance was to last for 12 months and include Internet surveillance and complete identity repair in the event of identity theft and fraudulent use. Sony estimated that the cost of the PSN outage would be $177 million.

Lawsuits quickly followed. On April 27, 2011, Kristopher Johns filed a class-action lawsuit on behalf of all PlayStation users. His lawsuit alleged many things including: (1) Sony failed to encrypt data, (2) Sony failed to provide prompt and adequate warnings of a security breach to users, and (3) Sony created unreasonable delays in bringing PSN services back online. A similar lawsuit was filed in Canada by Natasha Maksimovic. She sought $'1 billion (Canadian dollars) in damages which included free credit monitoring and identity theft insurance. The lawsuit contained the following quote: "If you can't trust a huge multinational corporation like Sony to protect your private information, who can you trust? It appears to me that Sony focuses more on protecting its games than its PlayStation users."
But Sony's hacker troubles didn't end there. On May 3, 2011, in the middle of attempting to bring its PSN services back online, Sony Online Entertainment was hacked. With this breach, another 24.6 million user records were compromised. Sony stated that it believed the two hacks were related. Then, on June 2, 2011, the SonyPictures.com Web site was hacked, further compromising unencrypted password and personally identifiable information.

Read the case above: Sony Reels from Multiple Hacker Attacks and answer the questions below. Using APA formatting and guidelines. Write a paper with a title page, abstract page, and reference page in addition to the body of the paper.
1. Do some research on the Sony PSN debacle. What are the new cost estimates for the incident? How many customers have left Sony because of the incident? Have there been any reports of fraudulent use of identities obtained from the hack? Has Sony?s PlayStation Network been hacked again?
2. Gaming and virtual services on the Internet, like Sony?s PSN, World of Warcraft, and Second Life, boast millions of users. For each user, the service must store credit card information and personally identifiable information. What must these organizations do to protect the private information of their customers? Is it even reasonable to assume that any organization can have protection measures in place to stop the world?s best hackers?
3. If an extremely intelligent hacker is caught by a law enforcement agency, should that hacker be prosecuted and sent to jail? Is there perhaps a way that hacker might be ?turned? for the good of the digital world? What would that be?
4. According to each and every survey taken of businesses regarding data breaches, each one states that many businesses are reluctant to publicly announce a data breach. Further, most businesses will downplay the significance of the breach. Why do organizations do this? What is there to gain by not operating in a transparent fashion? Is this an ethical issue, a legal issue, or both?
5. What?s your personal identity theft story? Has someone used your credit card fraudulently? How many phishing e-mails have you received in the last year? How often do you check your credit report?

Answer the Questions Below.

Fiedler's Contingency Theory of leadership is both complex and provocative. What are Fiedler's major claims regarding leadership effectiveness (as codified in Figure 6.1)? How is Fiedler's theory/model provocative? How does Fiedler's theory/model fit into the nature versus nurture debate? Do you personally agree with Fiedler's assertions? It is interesting to note that, of the leadership theories/models that we have discussed/studied to date, Fiedler's theory/model has the most significant research evidence to support its effectiveness/veracity. Does this fact influence your view of Fiedler's theory/model?

Example Of Question:
Fiedler?s Contingency Theory is structured around situational variables, specifically; leader-member relations, task structure, and position power. ?Situations that are rated most favorable are those having good leader-follower relations, defined tasks and strong leader-position power. Situations that are rated least favorable have poor leader-follower relations, unstructured tasks, and weak leader-position power.? (p.125) According to Fiedler, not all leaders will be successful in all situations, ultimately, situations should be changed to accommodate the leader. Low LPC people are task-oriented and high LPC people are relationship oriented. Fiedler posits that low LPC (least preferred co-worker) people are effective in both high favorable and low favorable situations while high LPC people are effective only in moderately favorable situations. Fiedler contributes these differences to the way a leader deals with stress.

Fielder?s theory is provocative in my opinion because he does not point to a best style of leadership. Instead, each situation should be led by the appropriate leader, the leaders effectiveness is based on the situation. Additionally, you are ranking yourself on what is basically a personality test using thinking about a person with whom you had a difficult time completing a job. There is no definitive proof that your LPC score is correct, since the instructions for scoring are not necessarily clear. Fielder indicates a good leader has control over the situation he is in. This I believe places the Contingency Theory into the nurture side of the nature versus nurture debate. Leaders who are aware of where each situation falls on the Preferred Leadership Style grid can make adjustments to increase their effectiveness and outcomes. If leaders are strictly born with all necessary qualities, there would be no need for growth or change.

I do not agree with Fielder?s model. It does not allow for flexibility and your LPC score may not be correct. I also do not agree that only task or relationship orientated leaders will only be successful in certain situations. A successful leader is one who can adjust their style to the situation at hand, not adjust the entire situation. Additionally, the majority of Fiedler?s research focused on military organizations, which, do not always translate to the world at large.

Answer the Question Below.

In chapter 8 and 9 of the Fifth Discipline Senge proposes that leaders must be adept at pursuing personal mastery (lifelong learning and growth) and at managing mental models (understanding and challenging our presuppositions). What are the 2 or 3 most salient lessons provided by Senge related to these 2 core disciplines of effective leaders? How do the core disciplines of personal mastery and mental models connect with Fiedler's Contingency Theory of leadership? Does our innate/core leadership style affect our ability to pursue personal mastery and manage mental models? How so?

Example of question:
In my opinion, the most salient lessons provided by Senge are approaching one?s life as a creative work, living life from a creative rather than reactive viewpoint and working on our skills of reflection. This is where we learn to slow down our thinking process in order to become aware of our mental models; something that in today?s fast paced, digital world is becoming increasingly difficult. Additionally, these lessons force a person to interact with others, be concerned not only for your own personal gain but for those around you. This too can be difficult especially when dealing with companies and ensuring they remain financially sound. Personal mastery and managing mental models is the foundation on which organizational learning is built.

I see the core disciplines from Senge connecting with Fiedler?s Contingency Theory in the realm of mental models. These mental models effect the way a person thinks, often times without the person realizing they have formed an opinion. A person?s mental model influences how they perceive their employees or the task at hand. Senge is suggesting that is a change is required in a person before there can be a change in the organization. This is true for both low LPCs and high LPCs. I believe this change would be easier for those individuals in the high LPC category. These individuals are more concerned with the relationship rather than the task. Thus they are more likely to accept their mental models are potentially false, where a low LPC leader is focused on getting the task completed. They are not as concerned with relationships but mental models can still affect how they view the task and how the task should be completed.

I do not believe a high LPC or a low LPC leader will have an easier time of accepting and challenging personal mastery and mental models. Anytime a person challenges the way they see the world around them, it is going to be difficult. Task orientated leaders focus on getting the job done, therefore, if the end result is to change a way of thinking, they will continually work toward that end goal. Relationship oriented leaders focus on keeping employees happy; therefore, they will find ways to ensure happiness even when the end goal changes. Instead, I agree with Senge?s when he stated ?be a model? (p.162). What makes a leader is not whether you are task or relationship orientated but that you model behavior, morals, and values that others want to emulate.

FAQs

1. What is the relationship between this assessment 1 and assessment 2?
Assessment 1 focuses on the research and design perspective of digital media technology, whilst Assessment 2 focuses on the development of a digital media technology project.
For assessment 1, every student has to submit an individual report on his/her research, idea and design in digital media technology, which will be a scaffold for your assessment 2 when you need to develop a digital media product within a group, because everybodys research and idea will be considered for implementation in the final group product.
2. Do I need to implement the product that I propose and design based on my research?
No. The assessment 1 is trying to build up your research and design skills. Therefore, you just need to propose a product to design based on your research. Of course, it is fine by me if your group likes your design idea and decide to implement it for assessment 2.
3. Why do I need to develop three personas?
I would like you to think about three types of users. Two of the users will like your digital media technology in different ways and for different purpose and the other user will not like your digital media technology at all.
4. Why do I need to develop two use cases, not three?
You only need to develop use case for the persona who will like your product. You need two use cases because you have two out three personas who will like your product.
5. Why do I only need to develop one storyboard?
You need to develop a storyboard considering the two use cases on how the personas will use your product for different purposes and in different ways.
6. Do I need to carry out the evaluation based on my plan, e.g. questionnaire design, data collection, data analysis, etc.?
No. You just need to develop an evaluation plan (evaluation methodology) for this assessment based on DECIED framework.
