The following items are taken from the textbook sections entitled Discussion Questions>Making Research Decisions located at the end of each chapter in each Unit. Provide a comprehensive and substantive answer for each item and post them in a word document in your paper.

The chapter pages will be sent in attachments. Use the chapters provided for most of this research.

1. Ch.11 - 6 -- Below are listed some objects of varying degrees of abstraction. Suggest properties of each of these objects that can be measured by each of the four basic types of scales.
a. Store customers
b. Voter attitudes
c. Hardness of steel alloys
d. Preference for a particular common stock
e. Profitability of various divisions in a company

2. Ch. 12 - 2 -- Assume you are Menu Foods and you planned a major research study just prior to the largest pet food recall in our history. You plan to proceed with the study and feel you must add one or more questions to measure the consumers confidence that your firm will be able to recover. Draft a scale for each of the following types that will measure that confidence.
a. Constant-sum scale
b. Likert-type summated scale
c. Semantic differential scale
d. Stapel scale
e. Forced ranking scale

3. Ch.13 - 9 -- Below are six questions that might be found on questionnaires. Comment on each as to whether or not it is a good question. If it is not, explain why. (Assume that no lead-inn or screening questions are required. Judge each question on its own merits.)
a. Do you read National Geographic magazine regularly?
b. What percentage of your time is spent asking for information from others in your organization?
c. When did you first start chewing gum?
d. How much discretionary buying power do you have each year?
e. Why did you decide to attend Big State University?
f. Do you think the president is doing a good job now?

4. Ch.14 - 6 -- Your task is to interview a representative sample of attendees for the large concert venue where you work. The new season schedule includes 200 live concerts featuring all types of musicians and musical groups. Since neither the number of attendees nor their descriptive characteristics are known in advance, you decide on nonprobability sampling. Based on past configurations, you can calculate the number of tickets that will be available for each of the 200 concerts. Thus, collectively, you will know the number of possible attendees for each type of music. From attendance research conducted at concerts held by the Glacier Symphony during the previous two years, you can obtain gender data on attendees by type of music. How would you conduct a reasonably reliable nonprobability sample?

Environmental Systems in the Past
PAGES 45 WORDS 12463

Write responses to the three questions please follow instructions below. It is really important that all instructions are followed.

The questions are:

QUESTION 1: Compare and contrast the research approaches used to study the development of environmental systems in the past five years. Summarize the techniques used, the assumptions and limitations faced, the potential for error and how it was minimized, and the lessons learned.

QUESTION 2: Value creation is defined as the method used to conceive new ideas for new products. Evaluate the value creation theories relating to environmental sustainability.

QUESTION 3:Assess the circumstances under which the business organization can adopt environmental sustainability software. Propose a mechanism by which the value of the adopted software can be measured.
The total length for each of the three comprehensive examination responses (not including the reference list pages) must be 15 double-spaced pages.

Demonstrate critical thinking in the writing of responses, demonstrate the ability to analyze, synthesize, evaluate, and apply theoretical constructs, research methodologies, and research findings to dissertation research design and to professional practice.

For each of the responses.

Start with an introduction section that outlines the scope/direction (and possibly limitations) of the comprehensive examination response, and serves to set the context for the response, state its purpose, and orient readers to the main sections of the response. The response should then be logically structured in accordance with the specific components of the comprehensive examination question (which should be outlined in the introduction section).
Write fully developed paragraphs that have clear topic sentences, supporting research, analysis/synthesis of the content provided ??" avoid one- and two-sentence paragraphs.
Directly answer the comprehensive examination question and avoid digression into tangents and peripheral material that does not directly relate to the comprehensive examination question.
Effectively use summaries for key sections, transitions between key sections, and conclusions.
Use headings/subheadings and strong transitions to enhance the logic, flow, structure, and organization of the comprehensive examination response.
Cite peer-reviewed scholarly articles and journals (avoid secondary sources and ensure only limited use of textbooks ??" each comprehensive examination response should be grounded in the scholarly literature as opposed to personal opinions, experiences, observations, or stories).
Provide limited use of direct quotations.
Demonstrate a high level of critical thinking by performing a careful analysis of peer-reviewed scholarly literature.
Utilize scholarly voice ??" avoid conversational/narrative tone and stay in third person.
Maintain objectivity ??" avoid emotional statements/words and refrain from referring to oneself (even in third person).
Use APA-formatted charts and graphs only when they are absolutely necessary to demonstrate an important point directly relevant to the comprehensive examination question.

Please make sure only Cite peer-reviewed scholarly articles and journals is used and only limited use of textbooks.
Provide limited use of direct quotations.

Assignment 4: Clinical Epidemiology and Decision Making Case Study
Due Week 8 and worth 150 points

The Pew Center on Global Climate Change reported in September 2011 that the number of flood damages in the Northeast continues to rise. In Wilkes-Barre, PA, 75,000 people were evacuated as the Susquehanna River crested at a record of 42.7 feet. An estimated 5,400 homes and business suffered some sort of flood damage during that event, and 124 sewage treatment plants were affected by the flood, with 14 of them spilling raw sewage into waterways. Reports indicate that mold infestation, which can cause adverse health effects, is now a major concern among residents in Pennsylvania and New York. One organization, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, will be preparing a report for citizens in the affected areas on this issue.

Write a four to eight (4-8) page paper in which you:

1.Formulate a plan on how you would use clinical epidemiology to guide your opinions and actions on dealing with this issue.
2.Propose three (3) types of molds that could develop from flood damage and the associated health risks with each type of mold.
3.Outline a plan to communicate key information to health practitioners who will most likely treat the symptoms of mold. Include a timeline when this outbreak can be expected.
4.Compare three (3) methods that could be used to decrease mold or exposure to mold. Include the advantages and disadvantages of each method.
5.Formulate three (3) talking points the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection can use when addressing the concerns of the community on health risks associated with mold and what preventative measures can be taken avoid contracting this infection.
6.Suggest the type of study you would use to evaluate the long-term effects of mold exposure and the reasoning behind your selection.
7.Use at least four (4) quality academic resources in this assignment. Note: Wikipedia and other Websites do not qualify as academic resources.
Your assignment must:

?Be typed, double spaced, using Times New Roman font (size 12), with one-inch margins on all sides; references must follow APA or school-specific format. Check with your professor for any additional instructions.

Call with questions

It is absolutely essential that the writer is someone who has extensive experience in writing papers on QUALITATIVE RESEARCH METHODS and ideally, be a Psychologist, with a very critical mind. The person must have English as first language.

The paper I will provide is called "A qualitative analysis of on-again/off-again romantic relationships: Its up and down, all around. The task involves critically analysing and reviewing this qualitative study. I will provide 6 important articles related to the paper, guidelines on the types of questions that must be answered as part of the review, 4 files with classroom slides, and also a couple of pages with a literature review on the topic of reconciliations (so no need to research this area). It is essential that the writer knows a great deal of qualitative research rather than the topic of the original paper to be analysed and reviewed. It will be necessary to add more references related to qualitative research methods. I leave this up to the writer to choose the most appropriate ones.

Here's the instructions from the tutor. Please read carefully:

You must provide a clear description of the study and place it in the context of other work in the same area. You must describe the key elements of the research design and comment on the strengths and weaknesses of the study in regard to its core aspects including methodological approach, theoretical justifications and contribution of study, quality of analysis and presentation (especially in terms of contextualization, systematic and clear presentation and analysis, and ethics).

The essay should be between 3,000 and 3,500 words in length.

Essays will be marked with regard to the extent to which a critical assessment has been presented on the different elements outlined above, all arguments supported by evidence and the essay shows an understanding of the foundational principles of qualitative research, as an approach and also in terms of the method used. .

The essay should be of a high standard with proper citation of all references, complete with bibliography (which accord with School standards). Both an introduction and conclusion are expected and each section, as well as the entire essay, should indicate consistency in focus and approach.

The best marks will be given to essays that have the following characteristics:

All sections outstanding with wide reading, in-depth and critical analyses, good comparative strengths, claims substantiated by evidence, reading and material from lectures and tutorials well integrated as well as information from other sources, display of independent thought, all major points covered, no irrelevant material, excellent organisation and presentation, correct English, complete and accurate referencing (Harvard System).

There are faxes for this order.

The problem statement will be is online learning as effective as classroom learning. This is also the research problem. In addition add an abbreviated literature review of about two to three peer reviewed journals, a research proposal with a theoretical rationale for the proposed study. In addition add a purpose statement and one or more research question. Finally add a research design/methodology. Included in design is a source (probably grad students), sampling procedures (probably e-mailed survey with questions), and finally the variables of the quantitative study.

Statistical Methods

PAPER: Methodology
Professor: D

a. the tools of scientific investigation (properly methods)
b. Method implies a detailed, logically ordered plan.
c. A body of practices, procedures, and rules used by those who work in a discipline or engage in an inquiry.
d. The study or theoretical analysis of such working methods.

My job is to provide guidance.

As a student in my class it is expected that you take responsibility and have the insight to absorb all the guidance and instructions within today?s handout.

My single best advice: Do not diverge.

Research Question: What do we do about abused children?

The attention: The more stress on the Foster Care system ? the worse the children in it do.

Variables are: Abused children?s psycho-social functioning and out-of-home placement overload.

1): I have provided one research question which you can investigate through examination of original empirical research. ( relevant published research)

Vitally important that you understand:

You MAY NOT USE case studies. MAY NOT USE meta analysis.

MUST have three quantitative studies. Will accept more than three.

MUST NOT INCLUDE MORE THAN two qualitative studies. No more, will accept less.
Total of Five studies.

2): ONE of your attention should be given to limitations of the studies that might qualify conclusions.

3): ALSO important: What is EXPECTED within your writing: What do you think of the various methods used?

4): DO NOT TALK in great length about the actual ?topic? ? (you need to understand this major point) What do you think of various methods used is much more likely to be pleasing to my eyes.

5): One of Your attention is to be directed at the various methods used and you are to tell me about them. Using correct terminology we have studied in our Research Methodology course. I expect to see those terms within your paper.

I will provide some of those terms ? yet, only a few will be listed. We have studied methodology in our research course ? It is your responsibly to use any additional terms appropriately.

6): Basically, students are to keep in mind & should concern yourself with the methodological issues which may have a bearing on how you assess the findings of your five studies.

7): Begin paper with your Research Question (center the question on your paper)

8) Locate a total of five research studies. You must select original empirical research studies that address the above research question.
Five only!

9): The total # of pages expected ; should not exceed eight pages.
The ninth page will be your separate reference page.

10): I will not accept any more than 8 Pgs. Should I receive more ? it will result in a Failure. Less than 8 pgs. Failure as well. I will not even read any more than 8 or anything less than 8.

******I do understand you may need to look at literature review articles to identify research studies. You may use it to help you understand more about the research topic. I will accept literature review articles as an addition and only as an aid for your understanding*******************

We will approach this assignment in a highly structured manner.

Here I am giving you the Format which I expect you to follow.

Include the following topics in your eight page paper:

1): Begin by stating your research question. (centered)

The entire paper will have headings which have been placed in consecutive order. Do not change the order of headings. Highlight and UNDERSCORE YOUR HEADINGS: For example:

2): Conclusions-- (underscore the word conclusions)
What conclusions do you draw about the research question based on the studies that you reviewed?

3): Discrepancies (underscore)
What accounts for any discrepancies in findings among the studies? Consider the findings, the methodological differences, and the strengths and weaknesses of each study. Discrepancies: talk about Why their findings are different. Let me explain what I am looking for here. You will have five studies that looked at the same thing and they had different findings, Why was that? Why are there discrepancies among their opinions? For example, it might be they found out different things because one studied immigrant workers from Texas and one studied immigrant workers from California. Tell me how that makes a difference.

4): Methodological issues
Are there methodological problems that pervade the entire set of studies? If so, identify them and make recommendations for future studies on this topic to overcome them.

Methodological is: What do You think about How they did their research?
For example, all the studies were done retrospective measurements. You believe that was not a good way to go. Tell me what might have been a better choice. All the studies were longitudinal and perhaps that was a problem. It might have been better to do longitudinal, yet; perhaps it was not feasibility to do research by this method. Talk about what you think and back it up.

Do not be concerned should # 3 and # 4 overlapped. Yet, Demonstrate to me that YOU UNDERSTAND THE differences between discrepancies and methodological issues

5): Cultural and Ethical issues
What cultural diversity and ethical issues are pertinent to this set of studies? How well, in your opinion, do these studies address these concerns?

6): Opinion
In your opinion, what are the most pressing future research needs on the topic you have chosen?

{Review what I have suggested to all student at the start of this handout.
(have the insight to absorb all the guidance and instructions within today?s handout. ) }

Further guidance: list of methodological issues to look for and to incorporate into your paper.

1): how clearly do they state the RQ?
2): what do you think about the design they chose to examine the phenomenon?
3): Sampling issues? Maybe each used different size samples; maybe they had different findings because the sizes of the samples were very different. Maybe one study did not look at enough people to really know if it made a difference. Take a look at the five studies and come up with your own opinion but be able to back it up!
4): Type of data collection methods/tools used
5): how does the study deal with extraneous explanations? It is important that each student understand exactly how important this particular question is. The name of this course is: research methods course. Students are expected to think.

Read each of your five selections individually. Understand how the designs were done in terms of time (Retrospective, prospective?) What do you think the impact of retrospective or prospective had? Was it cross sectional or longitudinal? What do you think the impact of that is? Let?s say the researcher decided on longitudinal study; you should tell me whether you think that was a good way to go or not, be able to back it up. I think that is very helpful in understanding why some things are stronger than others in terms of design.

Tell me about the control over phenomena: Control is eliminating other causes than independent variable. Talk about Internal Validity.
Talk about whether the investigators rule out extraneous factors? If not, explain. Tell me about the Treats to internal validity. I expect to see those terms within your paper. Tell me whether the researcher accounted for the treats to internal validity? Were the treats either maturation, history threats, or statistical regression. If not accounted, explain?
Did you see any weakness here? Tell me about the size and composition of sample, using correct terminology. E.g. single system design, homogeneous group, multiple or heterogeneous group, Classical experimental group design or Partial Crossover design. I expect these terms to be incorporated within paper. Talk about whether classical experimental group design was used and let?s say you believe that was a weak design, and then explain yourself. Why was it weak? How would you have improved the research? Meaning whether you would have decided on partial crossover design, then explain why? Talk about External Validity: whether you think the research you have read can be generalize out. External validity is a term we all understand. Do have your own assumptions of internal validity when you do the second paper.

All Methodology terms are to be included within your paper.
This is a research methods course.

First of all, I have tried a site b4 I come here but fortunately, their job for my proposal wasn't professional at all. Hence, I didn't accept their proposal and cancled my order for my thesis which was over 80 pages.
I am hoping, if you showed me a good professional assignment, that I will order my thesis from your site.

Hi here are some notes that I hope will help:

Problem Statement There are few literature about online shopping in Saudi Arabia and there is even less about adopting travel e-shopping in Saudi Arabia. Few people adopt travel e-shopping in Saudi Arabia. This created the research questions that are what are the characteristics of the online shoppers? And what are the factors that affect their travel e-shopping decision?

Research Objective

The research tries to understand the characteristics of the online shoppers
and to find the answers to the factors behind why they tend to use the
internet for travel e-shopping or not.

*Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) will be applied and I welcome any other
theory that covers the factors that I am going to study.
*The research will use the quantitative methods.
* Questionnaires will be posted on different internet sites.
* The research is looking to cover 200 individuals and will use the random
sampling technique.
* There will be analysis for the correlations between the factors that
affect the decision of travel e-shopping. These factors include (awareness,
trust, usefulness and ease of use)

* Hypothesis:
Few individuals have made travel e-shopping in Saudi Arabia due to different factors such as low awareness, trust, usefulness, ease of use.

*The recommendations will bebenefit the research marketing companies in understanding the factors associated with the adoption of travel e-shopping, thereby enabling airlines, hotels, rent cars and tourism companies to improve their strategies towards shopping online for current costumers and the future ones.

There are faxes for this order.

1) How do decision theory, probability theory, inference, and generalization relate to data analysis? How do mean, median, mode, and standard deviation differ from one another? Support your answers with specific examples.

2) What is the nurse?s role in data collection, patient privacy, and ethical treatment of human subjects? What are some ethical considerations in data collection for nursing research? Describe some methods or strategies that allow a nurse researcher to collect qualitative, quantitative, and evidence-based data in an ethical manner.

The proposal should accomplish several goals:

1. Identify an unresolved scientific question, relevant to global change science and to policy.

2. Describe the scientific background in sufficient detail to motivate the proposed research question, and show command of the subject and methods, and familiarity with recent relevant research.

3. Propose in detail a strategy to address this question (your method: experiments, observations, modeling, etc.).

4. Discuss the broader implications of the proposed research with respect to environmental policy (how will your answers be used?)

The proposal should contain the following sections (the page lengths are a rough guide for how you should allocate your effort; the 10 page guide refers to sections 2, 3, and 4 below):

1. A stand-alone Project Summary (1 page, single-spaced). The summary should be readable in isolation from the rest of the proposal, and should give a concise statement of the research question, the methods you will use to address it, and its significance; (in National Science Foundation grants, the project summary is made publicly available).

2. Main Text (10 pages not including figures), with the following sections:

An Introduction that gives sufficient background to place the research in scientific and societal context (~3-4 pages, doublespaced);

A Project Description of the proposed work (how you will address the problem, ~4-5 pages, double-spaced), (be sure to mention deliverables) and

A Conclusion that describes the significance of proposed research and expected outcomes (including how your work will affect policy or societal issues, ~1-2 pages, double spaced).

3. A budget. (~1 page, not included in the 10 pages of main text).

4. A Literature Cited section. (no page limit, also not included in the 10 pages of main text). Your proposal should draw on original scientific publications and not just websites, although high-quality websites can be cited. The paper should be fully referenced in scientific format that is, not with footnotes but by the authors name and year of the publication. Example: (Schlesinger, 1999) or Schlesinger (1999) depending on whether the authors name is used explicitly in the sentence. You should include 2-3 relevant figures that illustrate key points and ideas (also IN ADDITION to the 10p text length). These should be specific to your proposed work - not general global change figures, but data that support your ideas or maps with relevant information. Note that the project summary is 1 page single-spaced; the remaining lengths are based on double spacing. A typical NSF proposal runs 15 pages single-spaced plus the summary; yours will be a shorter version (we need the double-spacing for grading/comments).
Ideal length is 10 pages of double spaced text or about 3000 words. Outside of these page limits, the proposal should include your 1-page Project Summary, 2-3 well-chosen figures, an approximate budget, and a scientifically formatted bibliography. A note on the budget requirement: Don't worry about exact numbers, but do try to be thorough. Identify how long your project will take to complete, including write-up of results (typical: 1-3 years). Please budget by categories such as the following: salary (don't forget to pay yourself! How many months per year will you devote to this?), travel, analytical expenses (e.g. isotopic analyses at $10 per sample), equipment/materials costs, etc. Please do not budget by tasks (e.g. "statistical analysis of data," "sampling of forest biomass and analysis of nutrients," etc.). Presumably you will pay project personnel such as yourself, a grad student, and/or a postdoc to handle tasks, but these should be budgeted as salaries. This budgeting process is good practice for your future in science!

Provide 12 annotated bibliography to be used as a foundational piece for developing a literature review. Each annotation should include the purpose, method, and key findings of the study. Use 12 references that are no more than 7 years.

Problem Statement
The problem is youth today tends to lack self-esteem, motivation, moral value, and a positive outlook on life (Sullivan & Larson, 2010). The specific problem is their lack the necessary skills needed for solving problems, working as a team, listening skills, and conflict resolution (Fertman & Linden, 1999). Promoting these skills will empower the youth economically and socially as well as encourages them to develop resistance to negative influences, self-esteem and the self-confidence required for a successful adult life (Zacharatos, Barling, & Kelloway, 2000).
In an effort, to prepare youth to be leaders in their communities and societies, this study will explore whether early leadership training for adolescents could be a vehicle to address these problems among youth in rural communities. Research has not proven if early leadership training will have an influence on building self-esteem, motivation, moral values, and self-confidence in adolescents.

Purpose Statement
The purpose of this quantitative study is to investigate the existence of current leadership training programs at primary and high schools. If found, these will be used to compare the effect of newly developed leadership training programs on selected study participants, consisting of various age groups between 12 and 18 years old.

Research Questions:
1. What is the relationship between early leadership training and problem solving skills among rural youth?
2. What is the relationship between early leadership training and self-esteem among youth?
3. What is the relationship between early leadership training and enhancing leadership skills among rural youth?

Abstract
(The abstract is believed by many to be the most important paragraph in the paper. It is a brief summary of overview of the essay content. Typically 150 to 250 words and do not exceed that number. It should be written in clear and concise language and non judgmental ??" objective as to contents only)(Abstract is on a single page and separate from cover and introductory pages)
The abstract for this project should include the following:
150-250 words
One sentence statement of research problem
Participants
Methodology
Essential features
(Introduce the problem)
(The term introduction should not be used, rather a short statement identifying the problem you intend to examine in the essay. This section should contain information as to the importance of the problems and the particular thesis statement ??" what you intend to present and why. This is usually an examination of the literature relevant to the problem)
Why is the problem important?
How does the study relate to previous studies?
Theoretical and practical implication of the study
Literature review
(Once the research topic is chosen it is necessary to conduct research in the academic, peer reviewed, journals and locate 10 journal articles that relate to your topic of interest. These articles must be from academic journals. An easy way to tell if it is a journal article is whether or not there is an abstract. If there is an abstract then it will count for a journal article. Each article needs to be listed on a reference page using one of the following methods (APA only). Once you have selected your articles you will need to read them and paraphrase how others have studied the topic. The value of the literature review is that it will provide a resource for all of the methodology section of the proposal. If you use the popular literature, newspapers, magazines, the non peer reviewed internet they will not be sufficient to meet minimum standards for this assignment)
Methodology
(This portion is your methodological proposal and is the part of the paper where you outline exactly what your research proposal is. In your proposal you should discuss the following where appropriate. Keep your project simple- dont try to do too much at one time. Be as specific as possible in your description of your methodology.)
(Describe how the study is to be conducted. This section should be a roadmap of how you are going to conduct your study and collect your data. You do not need to collect the data, but I clearly need to know everything you would do if you were collecting the data and analyzing the data. Be as specific as possible in your discussion. I should be able to take your proposal and have all of the information I need to go out and do your study. This should be in paper format with complete sentences and paragraphs.)
(Subsections)
Research Hypothesis (includes whether the direction of the relationship you are trying to find is positive or negative)
Null Hypothesis
Independent and Dependent Variables (include all attributes of interest)
Operationalization of the variables (how will the variables and attributes are to be measured)
Type of study (longitudinal or cross sectional and reasons for the selection)
Population (Who or what are you studying, what is the population, will you use a sample, if so how will the sample be selected (include the unit of Analysis)
Sampling procedures
Sample size
Describe subjects (population)
Threats (Reliability and Validity of your method)
Design (If experiment, how you intend to gather the data, instrument, secondary sources along with the instrument of choice)
Is your methodology different or the same as previous research- how is it the same, how is it different

3 Essay Questions (Two pages for each essay)

There are three essay questions for this.

The length of each essay should be one to two double-spaced pages (excluding title and reference pages). Use 12-point font and format your paper with regular 1-inch margins.

Essay 1
A group of researchers conducted an experiment to determine which vaccine is more effective for preventing getting the flu. They tested two different types of vaccines: a shot and a nasal spray. To test the effectiveness, 1000 participants were randomly selected with 500 people getting the shot and 500 the nasal spray. Of the 500 people were treated with the shot, 80 developed the flu and 420 did not. Of the people who were treated with the nasal spray, 120 people developed the flu and 380 did not. The level of significance was set at .05. The proportion of people who were treated with the shot who developed the flu = .16, and the proportion of the people who were treated with the nasal spray was .24. The calculated p value = .0008.
For this essay, describe the statistical approaches (e.g., identify the hypotheses and research methods) used in this excerpt from a research study. Interpret the statistical results and examine the limitations of the statistical methods. Finally, evaluate the research study as a whole and apply what you have learned about hypothesis testing and inferential statistics by discussing how you might conduct a follow-up study.
Your essay must address the following points:
Describe the research question for this experiment.
o What were the null and alternative hypotheses?
o Were the results of this test statistically significant?
o If so, why were they significant?
Would the researchers reject or fail to reject the null hypothesis?
Do the results provide sufficient evidence to support the alternative hypothesis?
Was the sample appropriate for this study? Explain your answer.
What are some possible limitations to this study?
Discuss how you would conduct a follow up study to this one. Explain your answer.
Describe the difference between practical and statistical significance.

Essay 2
A researcher has investigated the relationship between IQ and grade point average (GPA) and found the correlation to be .75.
For this essay, critique the results and interpretation of a correlational study.
Evaluate the correlational result and identify the strength of the correlation.
Examine the assumptions and limitations of the possible connection between the researchers chosen variables.
Identify and describe other statistical tests that could be used to study this relationship.
Your essay response must address the following questions:
How strong is this correlation?
o Is this a positive or negative correlation?
o What does this correlation mean?
Does this correlation imply that individuals with high Intelligence Quotients (IQ) have high Grade Point Averages (GPA)?
Does this correlation provide evidence that high IQ causes GPA to go higher?
o What other variables might be influencing this relationship?
What is the connection between correlation and causation?
What are some of the factors that affect the size of this correlation?
Is correlation a good test for predicting GPA?
o If not, what statistical tests should a researcher use, and why?

Essay 3
A researcher has recorded the reaction times of 20 individuals on a memory assessment. The following table indicates the individual times:

2.2 4.7 7.3 4.1
9.5 15.2 4.3 9.5
2.7 3.1 9.2 2.9
8.2 7.6 3.5 2.5
9.3 4.8 8.5 8.1

In this essay, demonstrate your ability to organize data into meaningful sets, calculate basic descriptive statistics, interpret the results, and evaluate the effects of outliers and changes in the variables. You may use Excel, one of the many free online descriptive statistics calculators, or calculate the values by hand and/or with a calculator.
Next, separate the data into two groups of 10; one group will be the lower reaction times, and the second group will be the higher reaction times. Then, address the following points in your essay response:

Calculate the sum, mean, mode, median, standard deviation, range, skew, and kurtosis for each group.
How do the two groups differ?
Are there any outliers in either data group?
What effect does an outlier have on a sample?

Lastly, double each sample by repeating the same 10 data points in each group. You will have a total of 20 data points for each group. After completing this, address the following in your essay response:

Calculate the following for the new data groups: sum, mean, mode, median, standard deviation, range, skew, and kurtosis.
Did any of the values change?
How does sample size affect those values?

I'm including the ruberics and instructions for this task.

Methodology and analysis sections of a research proposal are considered to be two of the most important. Evaluate the methodology and data analysis sections of an existing research study.

Task:

Select one of the three attached research studies and evaluate the methodology choice and data analysis used by the researchers by doing the following:

A. Discuss the methodology used for the study.
1. Discuss whether this research methodology was appropriate for the study.

B. Describe the data analysis section of the research study. Include the following in your description:
The data collection methods
The instruments used for data collection
The data collected
1. Discuss whether the data collection strategies and process was reliable.

C. Describe the techniques used to analyze the collected data (e.g., statistical techniques, computer analysis programs).
1. Evaluate whether the data analysis techniques were appropriate.
2. Evaluate how the researchers interpreted the results of the analysis to assist in answering their research questions.

D. Include all in-text citations and references in APA format.

When using outside sources to support ideas and elements in a paper or project, the submission MUST include APA formatted in-text citations with a corresponding reference list for any direct quotes or paraphrasing. It is not necessary to list sources that were consulted if they have not been quoted or paraphrased in the text of the paper or project.

Note: No more than a combined total of 30% of a submission can be directly quoted or closely paraphrased from outside sources, even if cited correctly. For tips on using APA style, please refer to the APA Handout web link included in the APA Guidelines section.
