Code of Ethics for ABC Company
Build Credibility and Trust
The huge success we have recorded in our business thus far is based on the trust we enjoy from our shareholders, customers, and employees. We uphold our credibility by holding on to our core values such as commitment, honesty, integrity and attaining all the goals of the company by carrying out our duties in honorable ways (SHRM, 2014).
Respect for every Individual
Each one of us deserves to work in an enabling environment where everyone receives equal treatment with the same measure of respect and dignity. ABC is solely committed to ensuring such an environment exists to help every one of us maximize his/her potentials. This in turn plays a huge role in the success of our business. It is against our ethics to let the talent of anyone go unharnessed (SHRM, 2014).
Build an Open and Honest Communication Culture
At ABC, we encourage everyone to air his/her views, especially when it comes to issues bothering on ethics. When employees utilize their right to ensure mistakes and errors are avoided by asking relevant questions at the right time, every one of us benefits tremendously (SHRM, 2014).
4. Uphold the Rules and Regulations
At ABC, we exhibit our deep commitment to integrity through our compliance with the rules, regulations and all binding laws in our line of business. Additionally, each one of us is expected to understand the company\'s laws, policies, rules and regulations with respect to our job responsibilities (SHRM, 2014).
5. Avoid Conflict of Interests
It is important for all of us to stay away from any activity or relationship that is capable of impairing, or even seem to be clouding, our sense of judgment and objectivity in terms of making decisions while carrying out our job responsibilities. Sometimes, we may find ourselves faced with some situations where we take certain actions in the interest of the company against our personal or family interests. It is our duty to the company to uphold its lawful interests whenever we face such situations (SHRM, 2014).
6. Set Metrics and Report Results Accurately
We strive to ensure that every disclosure contained in all public documents and financial reports are complete, just, correct, easily understandable and captured at the right time. Additionally, it is important to ensure appropriate Corporate Recordkeeping in order to generate, preserve, and organize all company records as an integral part of our usual business course to comply with all policies, guidelines, regulations and legal requirements set by ABC (SHRM, 2014).
7. Quality assurance
We have a culture of maintaining our standards by conducting regular reviews with ABC clients, to cover all aims, processes, results and the cost-effectiveness of every process. We hold review meetings regularly and make progress reports available on a regular basis (Chapman, 2016).
8. Professional conduct
All our activities and business processes are carried out with a high level of integrity and professionalism. We are always careful to remain objective in all our decisions, judgments, and recommendations (Chapman, 2016).
9. Discrimination and Equality
We strive to remain objective and fair in all our actions and advice, and never allow undue influences in any of our decisions, actions, or recommendations by issues bothering on race, gender, color, creed, personal disability or age (Chapman, 2016).
10. Confidentiality
We are deeply committed to sustaining the high level of integrity in all our business dealings with past, present and future clients. This covers our normal business confidentiality, and protecting every personal detail we obtained from a client while delivering our business services to him/her. We make sure this same standard is extended to all associates, suppliers and customers of ABC (Chapman, 2016).
Reasoning of each of the 10 elements
The proof in every action ABC takes is provided by Credibility and Trust. In the end, what we do forms the basis of values we profess. Consequently, before taking any action, the wise question to ask is: will this action increase the company\'s credibility and trust?
By maintaining its culture of respecting every individual, ABC proves itself an equity-based employer with a great commitment to building a discrimination-free work environment.
Honest and open communication builds a supportive and enabling environment where employees are comfortable to raise questions.
By upholding the binding laws, rules and regulations of ABC provide a platform for everyone to obey the binding laws and pre-empt any form of rebellion against the laws. It also creates a platform to speak up whenever there is a violation of the law.
The 5th code makes the employees aware of avenues that could lead to a conflict of interest with the aim of avoiding relationships and involvements that could create such avenues.
The 6th code makes sure that every corporate record is factual, accurate and all-inclusive, and all company information is entered in relevant books in record time in line with the accounting principles of ABC and any other relevant accounting principle (SHRM, 2014).
The 7th Element makes sure that every relevant mechanism for quality assurance is utilized to maintain the standard of the company\'s products and services.
Applying professional ethics ensures that all actions are taken in the best interests of the company\'s clients.
Non-Discrimination and equality ensure that equal opportunities are made available to all.
The framework for protecting all personal and private data is ensured by the code of confidentiality (Chapman, 2016).
Importance of Code of Ethics from an Employer Standpoint
The professional ethics adopted by employers for managing their workers affects workers\' loyalty and morale. The code of ethics decided upon by employers are responsible for the choice of discipline procedures and the behaviors termed acceptable for every employer in any organization. When the employers\' ethical standards are high, workers in that organization are encouraged to meet that same standard. Ethical employers (Kelchner, 2016) also enhance the company\'s reputation in the community and financial market.
