Educational Legislation

EDUCATION

Education plays a key role in molding and to guide pupils, from the tender age to old age, and offers them with rightful skills to face the challenges of the modern society. However, educational gaps render learning difficult for some people to achieve their dreams of getting education to a higher level. American government, in turn, has set up Legislations to govern such people and to ensure proper, accessible and equal opportunity to all without discrimination whatsoever. Achievement gap shows the differences that exist between the academic performances of two or more groups, due to factors such as different socioeconomic class, race, sex.

Poverty is a socioeconomic gap that clearly brings out the disparities between the rich and the poor. From research, people believed that the poor children did not take education seriously unless pushed. On the other hand, the rich attended classes and seminars, if need be, for they had enough resources to cater for them and by constant encouragements from their parents. Believes that the poor lacked enough education motivation from their parents, especially generationally poor children, acted as a demoralization tool to the poor from learning. Myths were put forth to describe education for poor children, such as they share monolithic and predictable beliefs and behaviors. Such myths were meant to demoralize the poor children from seeking education and choose to remain like their poor parents. Classism too aids the educational gap. It encourages biasness making the low class students helpless in school activities.

A step to advance is taken by the poor in order to improve their education status and fill the gap. From research, it is evident that the poor have immense potential in education than the rich. Leaders in educational institutions should be equipped with the necessary data and research on how they should do in order to abolish gap myths. This will enable students, teachers and parents to identify a way forward on practices that are damaging, to the poor and minority students. Supporting of the low performing students by identifying community networks should be applicable in all schools. This will enable the parents and teachers to identify main child's problem. Parents should be incorporated, in the school partnership program, to support such children and bridge the gap. To enable teachers understand speeds that different children learn with, instructional opportunities should be implemented in schools. This will enable teachers to offer ample time to every student no matter the learning pace. Schools that serve a large numbers of students should be provided with enough number of teachers who are well trained and are ready to support all students in every field. Proper training of teachers is also a strategy, in that this will enable them to understand students better. Supporting schools with a large number of students financially, aiding in technical assistance, and directing them will enable the students meet the academic standard that is required in the state.

The American government have chipped in and laid strategies on how to improve educational outcomes. The government has come up with short- and long-term plans to ensure improvement in America's education system. The state government has provided funds to support the disadvantaged schools, and to do away with the achievement gaps due to socioeconomic status of various learners. Hiring qualified and eligible staff to high-poverty schools, and becoming choosy when it comes to employment in such schools to ensure standardized educationist are examples of government initiatives. Employing teachers with potential to high-poverty schools will improve the learning system of school. Qualified staff and administrators are also employed to ensure quality service provision to education institutes. The government has come up with incentives on how to improve the high-poverty schools, varying from school to school, and identify main objective using minimum costs.

State Board of Education is an incentive by the government. The Board ensures that education in the state is sufficient and provides sufficient data to ensure quality education to all. This is by ensuring the education curriculum is adhered to in all educational institutions and advocate for quality standard of learning to every child.
