Personal statement for graduate study in business administration

¶ … Aida Vareldjian and I am applying for a graduate study in the Queen's College in New York. I am about to graduate in December of this year at the California University of Fresno where I am currently taking my college degree, majoring in Business Administration with Accountancy option. For a brief personal background, I originally came from Russia. When I was 13-year-old, I came to the U.S.A. And I have been living here for 10 years already. Despite of the fact that I am not a natural American citizen, I feel that I am already adapted to the American ways of life and American culture because of the 10 years of living experience with the lovely U.S. citizens.

I am now 23 years old and am still eager to further my studies. Hence, I wish to take a master's course to gain more knowledge and skills in my field of interest. I am choosing Queen's College in New York City because I feel that it suits my preferences regarding the surroundings and environment, as well as my lifestyle as a student. I also believe that New York City will be a good place where I can improve my views in life. This is because the city offers a lot of life experiences such as dealing with different kinds of people, living in a modern and fast pace society, and living in a society where high technology is always present.

My main objective why I am interested in taking a master's program is to further my knowledge and skills in my field of interest. My Business Administration course in college has provided me with a lot of information about the study's major subjects. It helped me a lot in gaining the needed skills that can help me perform business management duties. However, I am the type of person who believes that learning is a continuous process and that it should not have an end.

Hence, I believe and am hoping that continuing my study to a master's degree will provide me with deeper and supplementary information that can help me perform my profession better.

Another of my goal, in my desire of taking a master's program, is to increase my proficiency in decision-making and business management. Since my field of interest is in business administration and management, as well as performing accounting tasks, I believe that a master's program can present me with more information about the techniques and strategies that can help me effectively deliver my professional duties. Moreover, I believe that taking a master's program can further clarify and deepen the basic knowledge and information that were taught in my college classes. Also, through the master's program, such basic knowledge and information that I learned can be improved into a more complex and yet more useful tools for my business management job.
