He was a practitioner of medicine, skilled in the arts of weaponry of virtually any variety. He spoke at least five different languages, and was familiar with customs and practices throughout Europe and the Mediterranean. During all of his daring exploits for revenge, he somehow never lost the essence of his personality and his humble beginnings as a French sailor, nor his innate knack for studying and learning the characters of men and applying that to his adventures.
Of all the works of literature I studied while earning my Bachelor's degree at King Saud's University in Saudi Arabia and at __ (insert University name) in Paris, The Count of Monte Cristo and its quintessential hero, Edmond Dantes, had the most impact on my life. I have patterned myself after the protagonist of Dumas' classic work of literature and am ready to apply my knowledge of literature, history, and characterization to the pragmatic field of Human Resource Management by pursuing a Master's degree in this field.
I believe the transition from a literary scholar to a human resources practitioner is both natural and, in my case, inevitable. My scholarship in a diverse range of literature spanning authors and subjects from across the globe has helped familiarize me with the essentials of critical thinking and interpreting various problems and solutions pertaining to the humanities. Moreover, my work in this field has thoroughly familiarized me with an understanding of human nature, which I am eager to apply to a field with the almost limitless possibilities of human resources management.
There are a variety of reasons why I have chosen to pursue this field for my graduate studies. It is one of the most viable degrees available today because of the many lucrative career options it yields. I am currently considering focusing in a number of areas including those pertaining to employee or labor relations, compensation and benefits, recruitment, and customer service. Human resources management professionals play a direct role in the proper allocation and supervision of any organization's most valuable resources: people. They have the capacity to greatly influence the success of an organization and play a fundamental role in establishing -- and preserving -- a beneficial company culture that can foster success.
Additionally, human resource management is a profession that will always be in demand for the simple fact that this field is one which every organization must effectively master to remain active. Human resources plays a viable part of organizations in both the public and private sectors, particularly in the former as policy discussed and set has the potential to affect relations with the general public. Regardless of which particular area of specialization I decided to pursue, it is critical to note that human resource managers essentially providing a means of communication and supervision of upper level management to the rest of an organizations employees -- and by extension, to the public at large.
