My career in human resources spans more than a decade, during which I have helped organizations reach their goals. I have also helped countless individuals reach their highest potential within organizations, promoting personal and professional development. The time has come for me to reinforce my core competencies and invest in my own professional and personal development. Far from seeking a career change, I want to deepen my understanding of human resources research, with the goal of improving my efficacy as a human resources manager. The Masters program in Human Resources Management at Florida International University offers precisely the kind of education and opportunity I need, especially with its equal emphasis on theory and practice.

Growing in the field of human resources means learning about emerging research in how human resources strategies can be optimized to meet specific performance objectives for the organization. Human resources managers can be instrumental in shaping organizational culture, helping to create more supportive, diverse working environments that stimulate creativity and collaboration. As a human resources manager, I have seen how the right policies, practices, and strategies can either inspire employees or drive them away. Nothing hurts an organization more than losing top talent, which is why human resources managers can consult with the leaders of their companies to ensure that the culture matches the overall values and mission of the organization. In fact, human resources managers can make or break an organization when they help create an ideal working environment comprised by dedicated, effective, competent personnel.

During my time at FIU, I intend to continue working in my field to recognize the integration of theory and practice. I can therefore immediately apply what I learn to the business environment, developing skills and competencies, and becoming expert in specialized areas of human resources management. I sincerely appreciate this opportunity and look forward to growing my career with the help of FIU.
