Admissions Statement

Admissions Statement I have realized that it is my passion to help people who are not fortunate enough to take care of themselves or their families. This is the reason why I would like to have a graduate degree at this time to gain licensure into the field of Social Work and fulfill my ambition of working as a social worker. I have chosen macro administration and community practice concentration to focus on for my advanced year studies.

The main reason behind this choice is that I would like to further my career and education in the community and administration forum. The mentioned subjects are all about solving the problems of people in general and society in particular. Still, it's my desire to work more towards helping the underprivileged women and children.

After completing my graduation in the Master of Science in Social Work Program at University of Texas - Pan American, I have specifically decided to work with women, children, families, and the elderly in the community that need help. There are a number of reasons why I have chosen to apply to University of Texas - Pan American, Department of Social Work to pursue a master's degree in social work.

First of all, being a student at the University of Texas - Pan American would definitely be an honor for me as this university enjoys an excellent reputation. Secondly, the fact that the curriculum here is outstanding and is being taught by proficient teachers/faculty is also an attractive characteristic of the University of Texas - Pan American.

Thirdly, I have researched very thoroughly and found out that based on my interest, the University of Texas - Pan American is one of the few universities that are offering my preferred degree program with a perfect arrangement of course modules that suit my interest. Therefore, I believe that the focus of the University of Texas - Pan American to pass on quality education will allow me to get trained to study and work in a first-class contemporary environment.

All of the above mentioned reasons encourage me to become a part of the culture that the University of Texas - Pan American offers. I am sure I would be able to acquire the specific skills here that would later help me in my professional life as a Social Worker. Part II: I have various personal, professional, and educational experiences that have helped me in deciding about social work as a field of graduate study. I have successfully attained a bachelor's degree with three depth areas i.e.

nursing, psychology, and sociology. I have also acquired a Master of Arts in Human Services. In addition to this, I have been working as a licensed Vocational Nurse since 2007. I have also done volunteer work and have spent more than 100 hours in a senior rehabilitation center. I have also the experience of assisting my seniors in a number of surgeries. Other than all these achievements, I am in the middle of a process of applying for volunteer experience with the local VA center in McAllen, TX.

I value education very much and this is why I want to take it seriously in the future too. If I am given the opportunity of studying further, I have an honest intention of going as far as I can. I am hoping that along with the educational and professional experiences I already have, I can acquire more specialized training and expertise that the University of Texas - Pan American is providing.

I believe that I have reached that stage of my life where I have gained enough experiences to transfer them positively to people who need emotional support. I also believe that being a student of Sociology; I am all prepared to make a difference in the lives of people. As far as my personal strengths and limitations are concerned, I am a kind, compassionate, kindhearted, determined, competent and team-oriented individual. As a student, I am more or less always capable of completing the given assignments before the deadline.

I also have the ability of evaluating the situational impetus and actions of individuals and society and their interaction in a given environment. I am also able to choose and implement appropriate strategies that mostly result in positive consequences. I believe that I can prove to be a good social worker as I am considerate towards the need of others. Being a sensitive person, I tend to carry out every task with thoughtfulness and sympathy.

Due to the mentioned qualities, I believe that I can facilitate people and families by helping them to make their lives better. Due to the personal characteristics I possess, I am confident that.
