This means that their money ends up being spent on useless things rather than being saved, or used to buy homes or other assets that could actually provide financial security. In addition, the current official system -- taxes, the workings of the government, and politicians and lobbyists which have become unofficially official -- is set up to protect the interests of big business and the very wealthy, with tax breaks, access to government, and the ability (meaning time and money, which are really the same thing in these scenarios) to affect change through the courts and legislation. The best way to solve these problems is to educate people on wise ways to use their money, and to make the laws clearer and more readily accessible, so that people who can't afford to take weeks...

As things stand now, the wealthier tend to have all the power, and confronting the power of wealth by legal means is often too efficient to make it worthwhile, which perpetuates the disparity of wealth and justice in our society.
The legal profession can help to address this issue by devoting more time to pro bono work, whether through working on specific cases or generally disseminating information to the public. In addition, lobbyists for the poor could use their knowledge of the legal system and the workings of politics to advocate for more consumer protection and education, enabling them to make wiser and fairer decisions.
