The first image up for analysis is the Bacardi rum advertisement. This image shows one man and three woman sitting around a table. The man is pouring Bacardi rum in a small glass, which seems to be for himself, while the women drink other drinks in more fancy glasses. One woman looks at the camera (right side) while the others watch the man in awe as he pours the rum. All three women appear to be in a bit of a daze while the man looks like some sort of magician pouring a magic elixir -- replete with a rather strange smile on his face. The women in the center seems to be the most intrigued while the other two women look at bit more drugged -- yet all look like they are under some sort of spell.

The advertisement's line is "Bacardi rum is so 'mixable'… it's a one-brand bar." This line is rather provocative in that it makes one think that the women are what are being mixed and the man -- a one brand kind of guy -- can mix any kind of woman into his little magic trick. There is a redhead, a darker haired woman, and a blonde, which brings up the film "The Witches of Eastwick." Perhaps that film came after this ad, but still, the ad is making a commentary about mixing things for pleasure -- like women and to do this, you'll need Bacardi.

The second image says, "Come to where the flavor is. Come to Marlboro Country." The ad depicts an older cowboy with his horse, cigarette hanging out of the mouth, staring into the horizon or something equally stimulating. The man appears to be putting on his boots or perhaps putting spurs onto his boot as he and his horse contemplate the horizon. The guy looks tough and he looks like he is about to take on a stampede of bulls or something. We really don't have any idea about what he's thinking other than he is cool and confident in what he's thinking. He's taking his time putting his spurs and boots on. His horse and himself seem to be one person as there is a line running from the horse to the man. The horse's ears are alert and the man's holding of his head is in an alert position as well. Both are ready to take on something but they are not going to jump the gun on whatever it is. They are both confident enough in themselves that they will wait for the right time to take action.

The third image is of a woman standing in high heels and a fur wrap on her arm. The car is sporty and sexy in an 1950 skind of style. The woman is sexy and stylish and she has her hand draped on the car as if it is just another luxurious possession she has comet own -- like her fur.

The woman looks confidently at the camera. She is confident, yet she is also a bit aggressive. Her eyebrows are lifted and she seems to be wary about what may happen next. Perhaps if she took her eyes off of you, you'd do something that she doesn't like. Perhaps that is her boyfriend, fiancee, or husband taking the picture and she is less than thrilled to be taking a road trip. She seems to be out in the middle of nowhere wearing heals and a nice outfit and yet she seems to be a bit annoyed with where she is.
