With the latest focus of the nutrition program, SNAP has the ability of influencing the diets of millions of the low-income Americans. Additional considerations are necessary to establish the manner through which the present pilot programs enhance vegetable and fruit access and/or policy propositions to limit sugar-sweetened beverages from the list of permitted foods in SNAP that may ultimately enhance the dietary quality of every SNAP participant (Lueng et al., 2012, p. 11).

In conclusion, in this research, the low-income adults were nowhere near meeting the recommended standards for whole grains, vegetables, fish, fruits, as well as seeds/legumes/nuts; many low-income adults surpassed the recommended standard limits. Nearly no low-income adult satisfied the majority of the food and nutrient guidelines targeted at improving health. According to our results, low-income adults getting SNAP benefits possess diets, which are poorer in quality than those of income-qualified non-participants that might play a role in the higher incidences of obesity and obesity-associated complications in this particular population (Lueng et al., 2012, p. 11).
