Animals Seem to Be Very

Last reviewed: November 6, 2010 ~3 min read

¶ … animals seem to be very intelligent.

It is amazing to see how certain animals seem to observe humans more than humans observe them. It is as if some animals study people. Take the beautiful Macau parrot for instance. This animal seems to study and watch humans, and then selectively imitate them. Studies have shown parrots need this interaction to stay intellectually challenged and focused during the day (Berkowitz, et.al.). A relative of mine has a parrot that will often repeat phrases they hear all the time around the house. This has led to many amusing family gatherings where my uncle's favorite sayings are shouted out in the middle of a family dinner.

Monday is a bad day for me.

When people say, "I have a case of the Mondays," I can agree. It seems like Mondays can at times be like a steep hill one must walk up and keep going to get the week started. It's more than just coming off of a restful, slow Sunday. It's trying to get work done when the world seems to be moving at double-speed from a full stop. Often simple tasks like getting gas in the car are overlooked during the weekend, which leads to a mad rush on Monday morning. The suspense and tension of getting to the gas station before running out of gas and thinking "why didn't I think about this Sunday?" adds drama to the morning commute. Pulling in for gas it seems like the prices jumped from Sunday too. Gas prices are higher most often on Mondays (Davis, 113) which just make this day one of the most disliked of the week.

Everyone should go on a vacation occasionally.
