Subanidja, S., Saputra, A., Magdelena, P., Wahyuningsih, E., & Siswanti, I. (2013). The Impact of Corporate Social Responsibility and Good Corporate Governance Implementation through Corporate Culture on the Performance of Rural Bank Industry in Jabodetabek. Journal of Global Management, 49-64.

Author/Date/Journal

The credentials of the authors and their school affiliations are hard to critique given the fact that they are foreign. A quick search for the Perbanas Institute received several hits but they were all in a foreign language. The Journal of Global Management however appears to be a credible journal that is based in Malaysia. However, without the ability to determine the credibility firsthand, the ultimate critique of the work will depend upon the content and the contributions it makes, or fails to make, to the field.

Content

The content of the study was heavily subjective and focused on the emerging field of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and performance which is a research objective that is difficult to quantify.

Intended Audience

The intended audience is most likely those that are interested in the banking industry in Jakarta or possibly those with a general interest in CSR practices in rural banking.

Coverage/Writing Style

This article is obviously been translated by someone who speaks English as a second language. This is evident by the first sentence in the article "A corporation has responsibilities, which it has to "lift" up to. Most likely this was a mistranslation of the English phrase that would be "live up to." Similar problems with the writing style can be found throughout the article. There are also several spelling errors that deeply discount the authors' credibility as well as the journal in general.
