Apple Corporation summary and review

The name of the company that will be further reviewed in this report is Apple Corporation. They are headquartered in Cupertino, California. This is in the heart of Silicon Valley. They were founded in 1977 and they employ about 116,000 employees (Yahoo Finance, 2017; Reuters, 2017). They produce both software and hardware items and solutions including the iPod, the iPad, the iPhone, iTunes Store, their personal computer line and a few other items. The iPod is Apple's line of MP3 players. They are digital versions of the mobile cassette and CD players of the past. The iPad is a computer condensed to paper-sized form. It has the mobility of a smartphone (which is what the iPhone is) but the power of a laptop. The iTunes store is a sales portal that can be used to buy or downloads applications, podcasts, music, movies and other things. They are owned and traded publicly on the NASDAQ stock exchange in the United States (Yahoo Finance, 2017; Reuters, 2017). When it comes to production, a good example of Apple's volume is seen in its iPhone production. For 2017, expected volume for 2017 is going to be about 230 million units. If this comes to pass, this will exceed 2016 by about six percent (McIntyre, 2017).
