I was only eighteen, but the first-born in a single-parent family of four, when I enrolled at Molloy College in 2009. My family attaches high value to education, and my mother was determined to send me to college at all costs. The entry fee was relatively high and it was really sad to see her struggle with my siblings' fees the entire semester.
