Arab Israeli Conflict

The Arab and Israeli conflict

The Arab and Israeli conflict is in news since long. There is a continued political stress between the Arabs and the Jews since in the mid of 19th century the Zionist government was established in the former Arab land of Palestine. The Palestinian land is claimed as a religious heritage by Muslims, Jews and Christians. The actual tension is however between the Muslims particularly Arabs and the Jews. When in 1948, the Israeli state was formed; the tension took a formal shape as well. The Ottoman Empire collapsed and the Arabs and Jews started fighting over the land. The conflict presently lives in the aspects of politics, economy, religion, society and culture. The conflict often takes the shape of ferocity where by Israel being a technological advanced country, attacks Syria and adopts an aggressive position. However, the state and non-state Syrian forces have also been responding to Israel's political and military attacks (The Arab Israeli Conflict, 2011). There had been political peace between Israel and Egypt and Israel and Jordan. However, with Egypt, the Israeli peace period ended when the Mursi government took charge last year in 2012. There are minorities living in Arab and neighboring Africa that have good relations with Jews that are damaged because of Arab-Israeli conflict.

African-American and Jewish relationship

The African and Israeli relationship is defined by Carson (1988) as a "fighting couple in public." Hence they may argue in public but live with and depend on each other. The Jews supported the African blacks in their Civil Rights Act of 1964. The Black-Jew relationship however suffered during Zionism, Black Power movement and affirmative action. The Jews are also alleged to have played an effective role in slave trade. The link between the two was strongest in World War II. The relationship can be discussed by analyzing the similarities and differences between the two.

Similarities

The Blacks and Jews are both the minorities in Arab peninsula and the United States of America that are both economically strong regions. The Jews have sponsored many movies on the rights of Blacks since they have themselves faced the Nazi suppression that was one of bloodiest ventures in history.

Differences

Unlike the Blacks, the Jews have been financially strong in United States of America since long. They have been in business and power. The Jews have family norms and economical orientation that offers them a strong position in the Middle East as well as the America (Joffe and Romirowsky, 2013). The Blacks have been the most poor minority in USA in past. Many blacks are Muslim by Religion that develops a tension between the Black and Jew Relationship. However, the supportive and sympathetic relationship in the past has offered many reasons for the sustaining relationship that still has the potential to grow and prove to be fruitful for both the parties. The Blacks have now also grown as a strong party, the election of black president Obama is the evidence.
