I have always been interested in music recording and reproduction. Indeed, from a social perspective, music recording remains one of my favorite pastime activities and for this reason, I own a portable Tascam DP-03 Digital Portastudio that a group of friends and I regularly use to record and share music. I would like to pursue this pastime activity at a more professional level. In my own informed opinion, the Art Institute of California -- San Diego remains the best institution to attend for anyone who has the drive, passion, and desire to stand out in the audio engineering marketplace.

My reason for wanting to join the Art Institute of California -- San Diego is largely hinged on the desire to become a successful audio professional. Indeed, as the old adage goes; it is by standing on the shoulders of giants that we tend to see further. The Art Institute of California -- San Diego is the giant on whose shoulders I intend to stand to become a truly successful audio engineer. It is important to note that in my search for a school from where I could pursue an Audio Engineering program, I zeroed in on approximately four institutions offering the same program. However, for a number of reasons, the Art Institute of California -- San Diego clearly stood out from the rest.

To begin with, in addition to recognizing the relevance of theoretical training, the Institute also does put an emphasis on both technology and industry trends. Tools and devices involved in the recording as well as editing of music are fast evolving. Industry trends also keep on changing. For this reason, the need to stay abreast with all the relevant developments in the industry cannot be overstated. Through its well thought-out curricula, the Art Institute of California -- San Diego equips its students with what other similar schools do not offer, i.e. A solid background in both industry practices and evolving technologies.

The Art Institute also has a world-class teaching and support staff. I would be truly privileged to study under such a tested and truly professional team of tutors. Facilities at the Institute including but not limited to the student lounge and the learning resources center also nurture skill as well as interpersonal and professional development. Further, the institute's studio which features professional studio equipment and tools such as the SSL Duality board, isolated floorboards, musicians' isolated booths, etc. is also amazing. For these and other reasons, I remain convinced that the Institute's professional environment would effectively equip me with the hands-on skills I require to succeed as an audio professional.
