1. Comparison of 1920 and 1945 Proposed Boundaries for Kurdistan
Following the Sykes-Picot Agreement, which dismembered the Ottoman Empire, the Treaty of Sèvres in 1920 proposed an autonomous Kurdistan within the Turkish State, covering predominantly Kurdish areas east of the Euphrates, south of Armenia, and north of Syria and Mesopotamia (Edmaps, 2023).
