The cost of living such as the prices of foods, the cost of housing and/or apartment units, the cost of transportation and cost of other utilities can be expectedly high also.
Career wise, starting a broadcast news career in New York will definitely be a good choice. The place offers better chances for any fresh graduate broadcast news person. However, with regards to the comfort of living per se, New York may not be the best place to be. Being in this highly industrialized city may not be healthy for a starter.
