In the modern business environment, there are numerous entrepreneurial opportunities that can make profitable ventures. An example of such opportunities is in the human resource field, which plays an important role in the modern workforce. Human resource consulting is a suitable entrepreneurial opportunity because independent HR consultants continue to play a vital role in the American workforce. This paper focuses on the development of an HR consulting business, which is an existing opportunity in the modern business environment.

The Entrepreneurial Opportunity of HR Consulting

HR consulting is an existing entrepreneurial opportunity brought by the fact that independent consultants continue to play a crucial in the American workforce. While technological advancements have made it easier for any individual to become consultants, there is still a great need for good consultants in the human resource field. The need for good HR consultants is attributable to the increased significance for enhanced HRM competence (Zotto & Gustafsson, 2007). Globalization and the rapid technological developments have changed the business landscape and the management of the workforce. These developments and trends have generated demands for better human resource management practices in order to enhance workforce contributions and productivity.
Business organizations are increasing looking for better HRM competence in order to enhance the productivity of their workforce. These demands have in turn created an entrepreneurial opportunity in HR consulting. HR consulting is one of the ways for improving human resource management competence and practices of these organizations. Zotto & Gustafsson (2007) state that external HR consultants help businesses obtain HRM competence to manage their employees accordingly. Given the demand for enhanced HRM competence, HR consulting is an entrepreneurial opportunity that can be pursued into a profitable business venture for the entrepreneur. In this case, HR consulting firms offer various services to help business organizations with the various human resource functions (Friend, n.d.). This assistance contributes to enhancing the organizations' HRM competence and workforce management practices for improved contributions and productivity of employees.
