Charisma leader-Joseph Stalin
Joseph Stalin's political career grew out of two major circumstances mixed together. On one hand there was the unstable situation that the fallen monarchy had left behind, and Lenin's reconstruction plans that had given great optimism to his people. The conditions that acted in his favor where the long discontent the Russians had experienced during the czar's rule, that was still not fully recovered by the time Stalin assumed power, and the new socialist doctrine that had started with Lenin's government and promised the flourishing of the country and improvement of all the conditions. His goals where to bring Russia out of the prolonged depression that had covered it during the years of peasant exploitation and transform it into a modern industrialized country, where the middle class could benefit from all the privileges. Industrial work should help the economy recover and match the capitalist countries of Western Europe. His ambition was to achieve power by transforming Russia into the most powerful country and extend the socialist ideology all over the world.
The situation in Russia when Stalin came to power was somewhat unstable. The revolution had caused a political instability, due to the sudden, much too violent to socialism. Also the country was going through an economical crisis after World War I that had devastated most of its economy that was already quite fragile after the prolonged years of poverty under the rule of Czar Nicholas. To achieve the absolute power he sought for, Stalin used a lot of propaganda, advertising his image, to convince people to worship him as a saver, a hero for his country. He set a complex strategy of suggestion to induce the masses to believe in his revolutionary ideas. Stalin also used fear as a weapon against his possible enemies that were persecuted and arrested immediately, even for being mere suspects of opposing his ideas. His goals were to transform Russia into an economical and industrial power, through the exploitation of the working class and achieve absolute power of the world by controlling the greatest country. However his methods only brought more years of oppression, manipulation and fear, as well as the destruction of many lives and families.
