Interview
When I first started university I was actually enrolled in a police program because I knew I wanted to help people but wasn't sure of what I wanted to do but...
Through that program I had taken some "optimum" courses that were more social work related and I thought they were a little bit more congruent with my beliefs and my values and what I wanted to do with my life. It was really appealing to me to see a job that empowered people and helped people whereas police work would have been a little less than my values and beliefs.

First, there is open coding, where frequently used words or concepts help separate useful data from other data that may not be useful in that particular research context. Next, the researchers turn to selective coding, which is "the process that links all categories and sub-categories to the core category thus facilitating the emergence of the 'storyline' or theory" (Corbin & Strauss, 2008, p. 155). This style of coding focuses
He began to speak less formally, weaving his previously formulated questions into something that resembled a conversation. This led his interviewees to speak more candidly and with more self-reflection, moving beyond their celebrity images. Here, interviews are predominant, with open ended questions forcing participants to express their perceptions and beliefs more thoroughly. These interviews are then processed through a series of coding practices which help extrapolate important concepts and the relationships that impact the social environment and the phenomenon being studied. Corbin & Strauss (2008) are well-known for their comparative analysis within the field of grounded theory. Here, there are three types of

Social Network Survey Draw a sample The sample for this study utilizes non-probability sampling techniques. Unlike probability sampling, nonprobability sampling does not use random selection (Trochim, 2006). Random selection is rarely used in qualitative survey research as the population will have been selected for specific purposes and often a certain level of attribute representation is desired in the sample for purposes of analysis. Because distinctions between the responses of survey participants from
