Classroom Management Plan

In my classroom management plan, I intend to integrate several behavioral management theories. First, I would use Skinners behavior modification approach, as I believe that positive reinforcement can be a powerful tool in directing student behavior. I also like Lee Canter/Marlene Canters assertive discipline approach as I believe that as an educator, I have professional rights within the classroom and should expect appropriate student behavior. Boundaries and expectations need to be set. At the same time, I feel strongly about Carl Rogers and H. Jerome Freiberg's personal-centered classroom because I want my students to experience a sense of belonging. I want them to actually enjoy the power of self-discipline, and to have fun while learning. That is because I ultimately see education as an experience of freedom and as a learning journeyso it should be enjoyed even if at times it is hard work. But to support that journey I would also implement Paul Gathercoals judicious discipline approach. It is based on a synthesis of professional ethics. In my class, I will base my rules on the principles of the Constitution, putting emphasis on individual freedom but encouraging students to take ownership of their...…teachers might inadvertently encourage disruptive behavior by their actions or words, by getting excited in the momentit is natural.
