Indeed, as the author points out, the book is "a practical manual for job hunters and career changers" (Bolles, 2013, p. 1). I remain somewhat convinced that the book has been such a huge success because of the author's resolve to mainly focus on the job seeker, as opposed to the job. On this front, there is no doubt whatsoever that his is an invaluable text for all those seeking to gain a better understanding of their career direction.
Some of the things I learnt from the book that could be of great benefit both to myself and to others include tips on how to succeed in interviews and the utilization of other not-so-frequently thought of career advancement avenues.
