Once this takes place, is when the government forces can begin using their tanks and armored vehicles to capture the Western part of the city. Then, they will cross the river and link up with U.S. forces at specific locations of importance that were seized. In the event that there is some kind of possible counterattack or a unit becomes penned down. An American combat battalion will be stationed just west of New Olaf. They will provide back up support in the event that government forces are not able to achieve their objectives. This will ensure that the city can quickly fall within a few hours of the operation.
It is at this point, that the U.S. And government forces, will surround the militias that are in select areas. This is when they will be given the opportunity to surrender or face being completely cutoff from any kind of assistance. Moreover, these areas will risk the possibility of nonstop aerial bombardment....
This will make it very difficult for these groups to maintain their position.
If this kind of approach is used, it will ensure that any kind of collateral damage is limited. At the same time, it will isolate and cut off the militias, which will force them to work with the government. In the future, the success of this operation will serve as blue print for dealing with these kinds of issues and limiting any negative consequences.
