This web site is attractive, and immediately communicates to the user what information they will find at the site, and how it can help them. "McKinsey and Company is a management consultant firm. We help our clients tackle their most challenging and complex management issues. In everything we do, we seek to have significant impact on our clients' performance. As you explore this site, we hope you get a sense of who we are and what we do."

This is more than just a simple corporate web site that explains "Who We Are," and "Services We Offer." This site also includes a wide variety of reports, white papers, and research that is free to registered users (it is also free to register). The McKinsey Quarterly newsletter is also available for free subscription. McKinsey's in-depth reports are used throughout the business world as one of the most respected sources of research and information on a wide variety of topics. "Knowledge is central to what we do. We doubt that any organization invests more than we do in building knowledge relevant to business."

Some examples of the types of reports available are: "Thailand: Prosperity through Productivity," a report which studies Thailand's global economy and productivity, analyzing seven sectors that feed their productivity. "U.S. Productivity Growth: 1995-2000." This report covers the U.S.' massive growth in productivity during the late 90s, and analyzes potential future productivity growth. And, "Rethinking the Aviation Industry," a report covering the recent downturn in travel, and how the airline industry may regroup because of terrorist attacks and lack of earnings.

McKinsey and Company's site is an excellent example of corporate communication and analysis at its finest. The web site is simple to navigate, and contains a vast wealth of timely and useful information. It communicates this information cleanly and efficiently, so the user can concentrate on the information at hand, and not on navigating the web site.
