Congestive Heart Failure Awareness

Creating awareness has over the years been the most effective way of teaching people the emerging trends of the universe. These trends are inclusive of health issues; increasing rates of pandemics and other health-related risks. It has been effectuated in order to counter and reduce the increasing rate of disease, and to provide the necessary information that can be used to prevent and treat such issues. Such issues have led to the introduction and assignment of educating roles in organizations at grass root levels. Such is my organization that has conducted awareness internally to the workforce and to the community.

Topic and scenario discussion

Congestive heart failure has joined the list of diseases that have immensely affected citizens, not only across the United States, but also globally. It is a chronic condition of the inability of heart functionality to deliver blood to other necessitated parts of the body. It has been conjoined to conditions of hypertension, arteriosclerosis, cardiac arrests, myocarditis, toxins, endocarditis and cardiomyopathy (Quinn, 2006, pg 4).

The causes of this disease have been misused, especially after the termination of life. Similarly, there is a commonality in the development of the disease among Americans. The main causes outlined to the people are self-inflicted. In relation to living habits, people are increasingly allied to obesity, which is a great contributor to heart failure. Fat deposits around the heart emerging from unhealthy foods settle on the heart area, and are attributed to breathing as well as blood pumping problems to other essential parts of the body. Living wrong by indulging in less fitness exercises is also a closely related cause to CHF and enhances the earlier stated cause. The affliction has been attributed to other non-inflicted issues such as aging.

Preventive measures addressed to people greatly depend on their efforts. Most of these methods are described as non-pharmacologic preventive methods (Baliga et al., 2008, pg 57). Patient awareness is the most vital method that keeps people informed of methods of avoiding and preventing CHF. In regards to lifestyle, it is proposed that people undertake fitness exercises and avoid bad eating habits. Consequentially, people are necessitated to intake large amount of fluid, especially water. After proper input of the proposed preventive methods, the human anatomy is capable of executing various body processes in a reliable manner. This ensures that the body is less prone to congestive heart symptoms and failure.

Validity need

In conjunction with the American Heart Association (AHA), my organization members and the society were familiarized with the cases of the disease alongside the reasons for related admissions in hospitals. Also, we oversaw the need to teach people on the importance of maintaining simple lifestyles and avoiding self-inflicted issues leading to the disease development. Despite the treatment done towards preventing the disease, numbers of people associated with the disease has been increasing. This effect has affected the mortality rates as well as morbidity rates. Modes of treatment such as heart transplant and therapies are also depicted as expensive and risky towards people of all equity; hence creating awareness is the only affordable method that can greatly increase bridge to recovery (Jonjic et al., 2011, pg 61).
