¶ … Complain Effectively The act of complaining has many negative connotations which distract from the notion that complaining effectively is an art that every person can develop and refine. Simply put, to complain is to tell someone that you are unhappy with a particular service, product, or behavior. Whether you are interested in complaining to a retail establishment, a political organization, or to an individual person about a personal matter, there are several simple steps which can ensure that your voice is properly, and appropriately, heard. Although there are a wide variety of situations where one might register a complaint, for the purposes of this essay I will discuss the art of complaining about a product. Rest assured, these steps can be easily applied to any number of different circumstances.

Therefore, it is essential that before complaining, you take some time for yourself to cool down and allow a more rational perspective to emerge.

This does not have to be a formal document, but rather will help to guide your thoughts when it comes to actually voicing your complaint.
