People living within contemporary society prevalently perceive the character of Cinque as being rather heroic, this being primarily due to the comparable decline of racism within contemporary societal parameters. Moreover, there is also the perception that they, or rather, we, are of a somewhat distinguished societal strata. Part III Joadson, particularly as a result of finding himself within an exceptionally phenomenal and complex situation, is continually plagued with psychological contemplations of his actions; whether the cause he is fighting for is righteous or only falsely justifiable.

Part IV Though Baldwin's initial ideology has him concentrating and focusing upon betraying the cause of human rights in so much as helping to enforce the ostensible law, his gradually developing humaneness and ethicalities eventually influence him to uphold the American system of apparent justice.
