Nuclear and WMD threat has been growing significantly in the recent past especially with the coming of terror groups like Al Qaeda. Questions have been raised on the possibility of the fact that the US government is spending too much money fighting an unworthy cause. This study provides evidence of such allegations whilst elucidating the role of intelligence in preventing possible WMD attacks.
United States investing too much in WMD protection
Is the United States investing too much time and money in WMD protection?
America has made massive investments of their resources towards founding the nation's WMD threat reduction programs. These programs have quickly developed into an effort from multiple agencies including state and departments of defense. Approximately $2 billion has been directed towards security programs, which have made impressive achievements of securing and destroying WMD materials. Over the decade, the world has undergone substantial changes as efforts to secure threats from WMD materials become complex. Policymakers and scholars have requested the federal government to revise security programs. These groups have made extensive recommendations, which have seen the U.S. government secure all nuclear material and protect the country against WMD threats
. Production of WMD requires materials and expertise; expertise efforts to prevent WMD proliferations have been characterized the redirection of scientist because scientists have been redirecting their expertise and skills to the production of civilian applications. Most of the redirection funding has been focused on spending on engineers and scientists as significant efforts to redirecting former engineers and WMD scientist from Iraq. These security programs have experienced challenges in securing enough political support because they have failed to yield tangible and immediate achievements in securing WMD protection
Since there have been so few "successful" attacks, are we simply worrying about things we should not focus on with the result of drawing our attention away from more probable threats. Focus your comments at the strategic level and not the first responder level.
Americans have directed their attention towards the IICT sector. Information system threat maybe one hard thing to understand, and even harder to know the direction to where it is heading. The threats occur day-to-day: warfare on information has not been impressive. Crimes that are done on the computer are mostly internal affairs, but the computer crimes that are external come in another attack from a systematic one, but small groups run amok. The United States has a serious enemy: no one can safely confirm the loss of threat even when nuclear strikes lack. Currently, United States faces many threats with unknown motivation
If there has not been a case of something big happening, is it a guarantee that nothing is going to happen. America was conversely considered as immune to Europe to the terrorism conventional. The idea seized the moment; the bombing took place at the world trade center
. Warfare of information is a trend and subject that is growing rapidly in America. Many of the poor nations have failed to understand their position in the modern world. Hackers exist even in the poor countries where they lack the relevant technology and wit to be considered with the other serious attackers. Systems are usually rare in a place where America's enemies exist. In fact, the whole world is becoming wired and focused on things they should not focus on with the expectation of combating security threats
Is the intelligence community prepared, equipped, and trained to alert or prevent a WMD attack on the United States or are we currently limited to a response and mitigation role?
With well-planned civil disturbance, the United States military have taken their police and troops for training to cub the democratic opposition in the United States. Plot Garden Operation is the code name for the grand plan, which is plan 55-2 of the department of defense civil disturbance. The original operation plan in 1968 has had many updates in the past three decades. The most recent update was done in 1991. The riots of Los Angeles triggered the plan
. The military operations that are currently in U.S. For cubing the WMD disturbance that occur domestically include police and guard troops being trained; become part of a very long American internal security history. These measures are traced back to the first revolution for America
The police and the military planning for WMD disturbance is gaining overarching logic and force behind the growth of units for police paramilitary nationwide. This growth is a direct translation of the rising violence level of WMD attacks on the citizens of America
. The U.S. intelligence has been equipped with flexible operations in less lethal and lethal high-tech weapons. In addition, elite military officers are being trained on how to eradicate civil disobedience, disturbance, and disorder in America. The rising levels of the U.S. army paramilitary units and the increasing level of violence by the police are directed towards WMD attacks
What kind of international policy would you suggest to help mitigate this threat?
The delivery of weapons of mass destruction, its spread, and the possibility that terrorists might get hold of them are the most critical threats that point towards the Alliance, which might continue from 10-15 years. Using an active agenda that is politically-based will make the alliance safeguard their proliferation. The politically based active agenda involves arms control, non-proliferation, disarmament, development, and harmonization of defense capabilities. The capabilities should be put to practice when necessary and come hand in hand with political decisions that give a helping hand to objectives of the non-proliferation. The elements of defense and politics are very important to offer security to U.S. And other countries. U.S. And other Countries have actively participated in ensuring stability and security since the 1967 report by Harmel by active policy for arms control, non-proliferation, and disarmament policy
The policy is meant to look at how they can offer support using proliferation prevention traditional methods, which will discourage and put off proliferate networks for terrorists and states in accordance with the Bucharest agreed framework. Regular, intelligence and knowledge sharing consultations among the members of the Alliance, partners, national authorities, and international organizations are necessary
. They will assist in enacting a common understanding and acceptance of weapon of mass destruction potential threats of proliferation made by states and actors from non-states. In addition, members among other countries will be motivated to come to terms with their own arms control, obligations of non-proliferation and disarmament and thus enact international response to weapon of mass destruction
