Craig Frampton\'s Submission Speaks on the Personal

Last reviewed: November 28, 2012 ~3 min read

Craig Frampton's submission speaks on the personal impact of having a college degree. Craig's comments are actually quite compelling as both a narration and demonstration of his considerable progress as a struggling student. Indeed, Craig describes the difficulties that he has endured in attempting to master the written word and, subsequently, to apply this mastery to a long-form research essay. Craig is quite candid about the limitations that he has worked diligently to overcome and also demonstrates considerable gratitude to his instructors, his fellow students and his education on the whole.

What makes Craig's submission so moving is that the writing itself is a convincing demonstration both of his struggles and of his triumph. As he describes the progress that he has made in his writing abilities, the organization and narrative cohesion of his submission convinces the reader that this is true. It then becomes somewhat inspiring when Craig expresses a feeling of newfound confidence in all other areas of his life as a product of his progress. He rightly observes that his improved understanding of the rules of composition and increasing dexterity with the written word will ultimately help to open up more doors, to take advantage of greater opportunities and, most importantly, to give back to his own community.

Without question, one can still see in that Craig is only beginning to understand how to use the written word. He certainly suggests as much in his own observations as well. But in its own way, his submission does ultimately tell the author's story in a way that is relatable and moving.

Student Submission 2:

Anthony Wright also writes on the subject of receiving his college degree. For Anthony, the degree represents an opportunity to serve as a positive role model in a community where educational values are not often emphasized. This becomes readily apparent in Wright's story.

What is also readily apparent is that the story's author possesses a unique level of commitment and discipline, underscored by his military service. He describes this achievement with a justifiable pride and indicates that he has often used the powerful image of his uniform to bring encouragement and positive influence to young people in his neighborhood. He also describes a community with susceptibility to drugs and petty, two characteristics common to areas where education is lacking.
