Critical Thinking Action Project The assumptions that can be reached through deductive reasoning -- that there are most definitely problems between the home office and the foreign office; and that the two offices have different objectives -- are certainly not rocket science. These kinds of problems create tension and conflict, which detract from the objectives and mission of ExtraVert. The solution (or solutions) to the problem presented by this assignment -- what has gone wrong with ExtraVert and can the problem be solved -- will be presented in this paper. Solutions can almost always be arrived at if careful, thoughtful, thorough understanding and courtesy is the strategy and theme of the problem-solving project.

In the Journal of Business Ethics (Chan, et al., 2012) the authors describe good corporate governance -- which ExtraVert apparently lacks -- as a situation in which corporate management has "…demonstrated its responsibility to protect the interests of shareholders and other stakeholders," including employees, lenders, consumers. Good corporate governance assures transparency, fairness, and accountability,…

Critical Thinking in Nursing Education For far too long nursing has been seen as a profession that requires compassion along with obedience to the orders of doctors who were traditionally considered to be the "real" medical professionals. Nurses were until recently inside and outside of the profession seen as sort of helpmeets to the doctors, a form of junior wife to the male doctor. Of course nurses were always more than

Cartoon Analysis An Analysis of Tom Toles' Gay Rights Cartoon Tom Toles' most recent cartoon for the Washington Post shows a wedding cake with -- instead of the traditional bride and groom figurines -- a groom and a groom, smiling and holding hands. One of the figurines is playing on the Sinatra tune, "New York, New York," saying, "If we can make it here…" suggesting that gay marriage can make it anywhere.

While we can trace the origins of this term to the Greek and Socratic philosophers, it has a special relevance to theory and practice in the twentieth century. In the mid-twentieth century critical thinking became a much debated and contemporary subject that was linked to the rationalistic and interrogative mode of scientific inquiry (Defining Critical Thinking, para. 3).
