Employment application and a benefits summary.

When most people inquire about finding a job they will often receive an application for employment. This is designed to provide them with specific information about the employer and possible benefits that they are receiving. To fully understand how this is useful we will conduct a critique of McDonald's employment application and a benefits summary. At which point, we will evaluate the basis for recruitment and the quality of benefits that are being provided. Once this occurs, it will offer specific insights about how this used to inform HR personnel about: the quality of the applicant and the benefits.

A Critique of Employment Application for McDonalds

When conducting a critique of the employment application for McDonalds it is clear, that this is seeking to provide managers and HR personnel with as much detailed information as possible about the applicant. Evidence of this, can be seen by looking no further than look at the application itself. As, it is looking a number of different variables including: biographical information, employment history, availability, education / military service and it is informing the applicant about what the information is going to be used for. These different elements are important, because they are highlighting how there are specific factors that HR personnel and managers are looking at to determine if a particular individual is qualified for the various openings that they have available. A Critique of the Benefits Summary for McDonalds

When you look at the benefits summary for McDonalds, it is clear that they are offering a number of different advantages to all of their employees. A few of the most notable include: medical / dental, vision, life insurance, base / incentive pay, the use of a company car, profit sharing, financial planning, paid vacation / holidays, sabbaticals, educational assistance, automotive / homeowners insurance discounts and child care discounts. These different elements are important, because they are showing how the company is offering a number of different benefits that go above and beyond what traditional employers are offering. This helps the company to inform potential applicants about what they are able to receive, when they have these kinds of benefits available to them. ("Employee Benefits," 2011)

When you step back and analyze the employment and benefits plan, it is clear that McDonalds is providing everyone with information about what they have to offer for someone who they are working with. While the application, is used to inform managers and personnel about a particular individual that is applying for a specific position. These different elements are important because, they are letting the general public know about what kinds of benefits that they are receiving. Yet, at the same time they are helping managers to effectively determine if a specific candidate will work well within select positions that they are applying for inside the company.

The Basis for Recruitment and Quality of Benefits that are being provided

When you evaluate the basis for recruitment, it is obvious that the application is providing a number of different techniques that are used. The most notable include: identifying the position itself, attracting the most qualified candidates and informing applicants about various laws / what the information will be used for. Identifying the position itself is when the individual will see that there is an opening and they will fill out position that they are applying for. On the McDonald's application, they are identifying what position is that they are seeking and their different qualifications for working at the company. Attracting the best qualified candidates is when the company is letting know about what they have to offer in the form of: benefits and compensation. On the application, this can be seen in the section where it is asking the person about their flexibility. Informing the applicant about various laws and what the application will be used for, is when the company is explaining that they are in compliance with different laws / regulations. At the same time, they are letting them know that they may conduct a background check to corroborate the information provided on the application. These different elements are important, because they are showing how the application is informing someone who is interested in the position about the job. In the case of the company, this is providing them with a specific background profile about the person to HR personnel. ("Guiding Principles," 2011)
