Personal Statement
The Art of Dentistry believe that dentistry is a form of art. Many times, a dentist is faced with a patient who has a number of severe problems with their teeth. The challenge for the dentist is to correct and alleviate these problems, thus promoting good oral health and a wonderful smile. Basically the dentist has to sculpt a pleasing form out of a less than desirable medium.
Using Creativity
Since dentistry is an art form, it is essential for the dentist to exhibit creativity. I welcome the challenge of encouraging reluctant patients to try new treatments and finding creative means to transform their mouth.
Not only will I have to be creative with my motivation of my patients, I will also have to be creative in formulating their course of treatment. I believe that each patient should be looked upon as a blank slate with a world of possibilities available to them. I do not feel that patients should receive just the same basic treatment, and rushed through as though on an assembly line. Every one is different, with their own health issues, and should therefore be treated as an individual.
Senior Citizens
Senior citizens can present a number of problems to an uncaring dentist. Many have had bad experiences while visiting dentists in the past, and therefore have not had a proper checkup in years. The fears of these patients can ultimately result in poor oral hygiene, and problems which could have been averted had proper treatment had been received.
I will strive to put these patients at ease as I work to erase years of neglect.
Better Life understand many people have a fear of going to the dentist due to past experiences, and I want to change that. I know that there is no such thing as a small procedure in the eyes of the patient, and will respect and address the concerns of my patients. I plan on explaining the importance of proper hygiene to my patients and the role it plays in preventing dentures later on in life. I will make it my job to be continuously aware of any new procedure which will benefit my patients, such as dental implants instead of dentures.
My main goal is to provide caring, professional treatment with as little discomfort as possible. When a patient receives proper oral care they feel better both physically and mentally, which ultimately improves their quality of life.
There is not a more rewarding career than one which helps give a person a meaningful life.
