San Diego SWOT for Dentists
Strengths
• Very big job market
• Tons of potential customers
• Amount of people on \"top dentist\" lists in area is literally in the hundreds
Weaknesses
• Hard to stand out from the other dentists vying for customers
• Cost of office space is very high
• Can be hard to get a footing without a pre-existing client base
• English is not the first language (if it\'s a language at all) for many people in the area
Opportunities
• No clear and dominant dentists
• Voluminous amount of chances to make a good first impression
• Word of mouth could pay huge dividends and preclude the need to advertise
• Will need a stockpile of cash to support practice until it is self-sustaining
Threats
• Starting practice in a viable way
• Breaking even terms of rent and other overhead
• Not having bilingual (or more) personnel will exclude many customers
San Diego SWOT for Dentists
Strengths
• Smaller metro area, but not too small
• City is very well established
• Market/metro of about 100,000 people (20,000 in Cumberland itself
• Much lower cost of living and cost of office rental space than bigger cities -- but yet still pretty close to such cities
Weaknesses
• Sort of in the middle of nowhere -- nestled in the outskirts of Maryland somewhat equidistant from Baltimore/Washingon DC and Pittsburg
