¶ … dissecting a senseless, violent mass murder at Virginia Tech.

To this generation, the not-so-long-ago violent and bloody campus carnage at Virginia Tech. that took the lives of more than 30 students is considered one of the most disturbing, chilling and frightening reminder of the times we have: dangerous, dark and perilous. Now that it earned the title as the worst such criminal act and campus murder ever in American history, what do we learn from this?

Recollecting those chilling scenes that the television played and played, each networks with different viewpoints and talking heads, I was still freezing afraid. Spine-chilling and disturbed was how I felt then to be exact.

Compared with other campus killings like the infamous Columbine, what sets this violent event perplexing and chilling was the horrible display of ego, indignation and at the same time, craziness. On national dailies, television and video sharing portals like Youtube.com, the self-recorded video and screenshots or photographs of the curiously troubled South Korean student of Virginia Tech named Cho Seung-Hui was plastered all for the world to see and witness. My first sight of the act, I was dumbfounded and scared. As if the message was this: "Hey, look at me, I am a troubled teen from South Korea. See how resigned and disgruntled I am in this world, especially America. So this gives me reason to kill, not one but many people as I want. What do you care?"

Delores Williams in her article posted at AssociatedContent.com (2007) said in the self-recorded video of Cho, the teenager would vent his anger and vengeance to everyone who will come his way "for a society that has not been forgiving and kind to his kind."

And although help may be available for him, yet he dismissed those, finally jumping to do the unthinkable: spraying anew fresh bullets to his innocent victims as if the grass of the campus is thirsty, and needs to be showered with fresh blood, the blood of failed hopes and dreams. Just like that, Cho finally put a punctuation mark to his acts by locking in his mouth the gun and then shot-fire his head. His face whacked and exploded. No mercy. To him and to the other innocent dreamers like he ever was when they just started. Cho resigned. His irrevocable resignation in this world was granted.

And when Cho's video was played on television, it spread like fire on the Internet, that every posts, some already redundant would contain comments and consternation. Few hours past, days and weeks, and many people all over the world may already have caught up the latest news that kept every body talking. On television, different public opinion discussions tackled the Virginia Tech massacre. On newspaper, on radio, the track of discussion is about the violent campus killing. And even on video sharing sites, comment boxes would almost retire from kilometric posts and multiple entries from different talking fingers who would like to give their cent's worth of reaction and opinion. Everybody wanted to change the world.

Moreover, people immediately have had different versions of the kind of person Cho was.
