Deviant Behavior to You? There

¶ … deviant behavior to you?

There are numerous examples of deviant behavior. Some of the many that I have encountered (fairly recently, at that) pertain to sexually deviant behavior. Sexually deviant behavior can take myriad forms and manifestations. However, one fairly recurring manifestation of sexually deviant behavior pertains to individuals who are cross dressers. Specifically, this statement applies to men who dress up like women in the attempts to seduce other men. I do not categorize this form of behavior as deviant because it involves an act of homosexuality (if the transsexual has its way). I consider this behavior deviant in a social sense because it involves chicanery and deception. Homosexuals who present themselves to society as homosexuals and (and as male ones in this particular example) are not engaging in deviant behavior. But transsexuals are looking to trick unsuspecting men into committing acts of homosexuality. In fact, they go to great lengths to achieve this objective. In addition to wearing female clothes and accessories (including earrings, make-up, and other characteristics that are generally feminine), they also augment their bodies in certain places to give them physical features that appear to make them resemble women. I consider this form of behavior extremely deviant, and somewhat repulsive at that.

Another form of deviant behavior which I have encountered within the past week is an exhibition of general antisocial behavior. There is this one individual in particular that I see fairly regularly who I believe displays classic symptoms of anti-social behavior. The individual I am describing is the roommate of my friend. This young man spends an inordinate amount of time in his dorm room -- I or my friends have never seen him anywhere else. Moreover, whenever he is in his room he is typically engaged on the computer. It might be possible that he is absorbed in his school work -- however, he always appears to be in some sort of chat room and communicating with people online. This sort of solitary behavior in and of itself is not necessarily anti-social. but, what is anti-social is the fact that this individuals fails to interact with people around him. One time I came in and asked him where my friend was and he stated loudly and harshly (without looking up from his computer) that he did not know. This sort of response has successfully negated any further attempts on my part to engage this person. My friend who lives with him says he does the same things to him. This person only communicates with people on the computer. Perhaps this is because he is a foreign exchange student whose friends and family are in another country. Still, by choosing to avoid talking to people in real life and fixating himself solely on his computer, this sort of antisocial behavior is deviant and not frequently found in contemporary society.
