Professional Accomplishments

He was a college dropout that slept on his friend's dorm room floor, returning coke bottles for five cents a bottle and walking seven miles across town every Sunday night to get a meal at a Hindu temple. As one of the pioneers of Apple Computers, a multi-billion dollar corporation, Steve Jobs has used his drive, ambition and passion to fuel his professional accomplishments.

When I first started at Wells Fargo as a teller, I made about the same as a high school babysitter. Undeterred, I put my best foot forward, cultivating customer relation skills and basic accounting principles to move forward- like Steve Jobs, I aspired to be something more. Over my 16 months at Well Fargo, my aspirations bore fruit in the form of four promotions, when making twelve dollars was no longer the standard and a base salary took its place. Simultaneously, I earned my securities licensing. During this time frame I also obtained my securities licensing and was deemed the top banker in my district consistently every quarter. The risks that I took and the challenges that I overcame to reach the point I was at when I left Well Fargo was quite an accomplishment. Upon reflection of my time here, I think of myself much like Steve Jobs- starting at the bottom and learning as much as possible, before moving on to start and be the next CEO of a life-changing thing.

Like Jobs, I have harnessed my motivation to obtain investment capital during a particularly dire economic landscape. While at Cannon Investment, I was able to secure investments for two RE projects, ranging from 3 million dollars to 14.7 million dollars. Investment capital in the unravelling market conditions were difficult to come by; but, it was the passion and motivation that I had internally fostered that contributed to my team at Cannon Investments.

To further the scope of my professional accomplishment, I was able to successful craft legislations that was adopted into the Utah County Comprehensive Plan. Through one of my projects at Cannon Investments, I came across a significant barrier that would have made the project impossible. But, similar to Steve Jobs, I continued to try to find the next step that would facilitate a successful outcome. To that end, I helped alter zoning laws to make the project possible and wrote a new code which would enable the project to move forward. Ultimately, the language written for the new zoning code was implemented and it helped bring development to the county. Knowing that I was a part of something bigger than myself and seeing the development in the county was an incredible feeling- one that I truly felt like I was a part of. Development, progress and novel ideas are incredible; but, being able to be component of this gave me an overwhelming, yet humbling, experience of accomplishing something.
