The Force Field Analysis I feel helps to provide insight into the nature of the problem. The restraining forces can be eliminated in order that the driving forces become the more powerful of the two groups. At times, it will also be worthwhile to understand when the restraining forces are virtually insurmountable. This will help with resource allocation as we will not be focused on problems that we cannot solve. A change initiative is particularly difficult in an organization such as mine with a strongly ingrained culture. Proper identification of the barriers to change is essential to ensuring that the change process succeeds.
