¶ … earth extinction similar to Mars may become a fact because of various problems in the earth. What can be done to stop the extinction of the earth?
Will Earth suffer the same fate as Mars? How can we protect our planet? Five known mass extinction has happened to the earth already, how can scientists stop another one from happening? A mass extinction on Earth happened 25 years ago and that wiped out approximately 90% of life on the earth at that time. This was triggered by a collision with a comet or asteroid. Can this happen again? What can be done to save our planet Earth?
There have been 5 known mass level extinctions in Earth's history; these events are characterized by the marked decline of biodiversity which mark the end of a geologic period" (Matthews 11-4-1). Not only has earth had problems with asteroids and meters, but scientist have discovered evidence that a meteor impact may have been the trigger to the collapse of civilizations more than 4,000 years ago. Studies that scientists have done in southern Iraq could possibly point to the Middle East being struck by a large crater. "The catastrophic effect of these could explain the mystery of why so many early cultures went into sudden decline 2300 BC" (Matthews 11-4-1).
Another problem that earth is faced with is the solar events that pose a serious problem to Earth. "A well placed solar ejection could...
