Why you have chosen the three areas of concentrations?

The three areas of concentration that I am focused on include: Economics, Financial Planning and Communications. Economics was selected because this is an area where there will be continuing focus well into the future. Part of the reason for this, is because globalization and changes in many developing nations (i.e. The rise of Brazil, China, India, Russia and South Africa) are highlighting how this will be a major influence in the future. Where, these countries will begin playing an important role in economics. Understanding these traditional and shifting concepts will help me to provide greater insights about how to achieve these objectives.

I can use this area to focus on specific elements of financial planning. This will help me to offer detailed insights that will allow individual and institutional investors to take a more balanced approach when it comes to their philosophy. Once this occurs, I will utilize the background that I have from studying economics to provide these investors with ideas that are more in line with their goals. Over the course of time, this will help them to make more timely investment decisions.

Communications will allow me to effectively articulate these various ideas. The way that this will occur, is by having effective verbal and written contact with customers. When you combine this with the background in economics and personal finance, this will allow me to effectively address their needs. This will be accomplished through using these communication skills, to present the various ideas from: a point-of-view where the general public is able to understand them.

How do your three areas of concentrations formulate a coherent field of specialization?

The way the three areas of concentration will help me to create a coherent field of specialization is by: creating a combined area of expertise that can be used in the future. As I will be able to effectively address the needs that a wide variety of individuals will have. This can be accomplished through working with large financial institutions to gain experience. At which point, I can apply these concepts to a customized financial planning business that I will be starting in the down the road.

What are your plans to utilize your three areas of concentrations after graduation?

Like what was stated earlier, the areas of concentration will help me to have greater insights about: the markets and the world of investing. The reason why, is because I can be able to deliver a total financial solution to different individuals from various backgrounds. I can take this knowledge and begin using these ideas to work on Wall Street. This will give me the experience that I need to be able to eventually start my own financial planning business. As I will be focused on every single aspect of investing to include: equity securities, fixed income, annuities, insurance, futures, currency, options and commodities.
