Exit Interview Report
I am leaving my present position mainly because I want to pursue my Master's Degree full time, but also because I feel I have been treated unfairly by my supervisor. Although I have really enjoyed working with our customers and meeting new people each day, and although our company offered employees good benefits, I have been very disappointed with the way I have been treated. I can offer several examples of situations in which I have been treated poorly. For example, after I had surgery, my supervisor asked that I come into work the following day even though a doctor wrote a note requesting that I stay home and rest. The same supervisor has made derogatory comments about my work and my competence, in spite of the fact that I have always performed my job well. As if he prejudged me before I walked in the door, the supervisor has underestimated my capabilities continuously. When I went to Los Angeles for training, he told a coworker that I would not be able to learn anything and that the training would be a waste of time and money.
Also, I have been left out of office meetings and paid lunches. The supervisor did not offer me working guidelines or assistance, but at the same time criticized me for making mistakes. I am not the only one who has experienced such poor treatment from our supervisor. I have seen him belittle people in front of others. I believe the work ethic of our supervisor is poor, and unfortunately creates low worker morale and reduced efficiency in the office.
