Kanye West's Yeezy Season Three Collections And Subversion Of Dominant Culture Fashion is something that is thought to be changing with time. The fashion of the ancient times is not the same fashion of today, and the fashion of today has a little chance being the fashion of the times to come. As with the fashion progression in the United States of America, the fashion protagonists, and experts have contributed much to fashion. Fashion remains to be the people's choice and touches on the interests and tastes of the people. In the United States of America, fashion has been a way of life, finding its way almost into everything that involves human beings. The contributions are varied like with those who have progressed with the traditional career of fashion to those who have entered into fashion from other fields of play like Kanye West. In his Yeezy Season Three collections, fashion has been given a rather diversified meaning, unlike the initial universal meaning that has always dominated fashion[footnoteRef:1]. The impetus within the imposition of fashion by Kanye West is rather diversified in meaning. It has taken the primary meaning and aim of fashion to subversive meaning that appears to be derogatory and even sometimes negative. Nonetheless, there are still some aspects of positivity with this version. In a normalized sense, it is very simple for someone to address of an issue using different aspects of life that are practical in nature. It is direct to understand that Kanye has a different approach to fashion rather as others have[footnoteRef:2]. As with the origin of hip-hop music, viewed to be a thing of the black people, Kanye West exemplifies this idea through his fashion. No one would think of a professional touch when someone, who is an artist, gets into fashion and designs a particular aspect of touch in the fashion industry. Differences and similarities will be notable by those who have been in fashion for a rational amount of time. [2: Clay, Andreana. 2012. The hip-hop generation fights back: youth, activism, and post-civil rights politics. New York, NY: New York University Press.]

In the development of the hip-hop music, many things contributed to this, fist begins with the state of life or the lifestyle of the people who are the protagonist of the same. "It is the tension between the cultural factors produced by postindustrial oppression and the binding of black culture expressivity that sets the critical frame for development of hip hop[footnoteRef:3]." This is with the development of hip-hop music where the state of life of the people led to the birth of a channel of expression, seeking its way into and through music. As with the fashion that is posted by Kanye West, much of the expressions can be said to be out of the objectivity that is found in the professional fashion industry. It is a message being sent to the people through fashion. Nonetheless, this aspect is hard to tell bearing in mind that the general idea about music is the people's lifestyle and the trends in human actions and interactions. With Kanye West fashion, there is an element of rap music that makes it appear as if it is a message to the audience. Te understanding of the reasons behind this fashion is found in the understanding of the roots of rap music. "Rap music must be understood as one cultural element within a larger social movement knows as hip hop." This is the innate message that can be curved out of the divertive fashion as done by Kanye West. [3: Clay, Andreana. 2012. The hip-hop generation fights back: youth, activism, and post-civil rights politics. New York, NY: New York University Press.]

The fashion in everyday life has to carry some form of the urban context. It exploits the prerogative ideas that are the tastes of the people, giving people what they wish to be part of, and exemplifying their elegance through imaginable perspectives. This is an idea that is instrumental in the design of any fashion design. With the fashion framework taken by Kanye West, it is possible to note that this aspect of representing what the people feel like elegant and great to be part of is diverted in nature[footnoteRef:4]. One would tell that some bit of the intention of the fashion and the motive behind this fashion by Kanye West is...

It is imperative to note that people of different diversities have generated many fashion designs and ideas but lived to express a single or few ideas. [4: Hall, Stuart. 1993. What Is This "Black" in Black Popular Culture? Social Justice, Vol. 20, No. 1/2 (51-52), Rethinking Race (Spring-Summer 1993), pp. 104-114]
The black popular culture has in itself divergent views that state the quality of life and everything that involves people and their main doings. This culture was developed juts from the justification that people, apparently the black society, wanted as like the other justified group. Yeezy and public schools have rather common characteristics that are attached to the state of life of a certain group of people, as for those that are of a different class of life. The Kanye West music is thus turning to become a popular culture, as did the separation or the difference between Yeezy and the public schools. "Popular culture carries that affirmative ring because of the prominence of the word 'popular.[footnoteRef:5]'" Nonetheless, it is with a fact that fashion is taking a rather different attribute and pathway in life with the emergence of the genres like those done by Kanye West. The dominant culture of fashion is being diverted to mean something else, and to influence a different perception that will make people engage in classifications based on what could be a possible cultural segmentation. [5: Hall, Stuart. 1993. What Is This "Black" in Black Popular Culture? Social Justice, Vol. 20, No. 1/2 (51-52), Rethinking Race (Spring-Summer 1993), pp. 104-114]

The present fashion is a design that reflects the moving culture of the people of the United States of America. This weapon has been instrumental for a long time, bringing together different aspects of culture and tradition of the people[footnoteRef:6]. It is a way of life that informs how things are done, have been done, and should be done among the people. Perhaps, this aspect of fashion, as witnessed in different parts of the world, is instrumental towards the realization of the need for difference, creativity, progress, change, and transformation of the styles of life of the people. Innovation is a basic tool that informs the kind of fashion today. It is driven by passion, desire, and the ultimate will of the people, geared towards bringing out what is new and best to the people. This can be attributed to the modern culture of the people, which also has a bearing on the ancient culture that was the main wall of tradition and change in the ancient times. The most critical point to make is that there were different aesthetic morals, social aesthetics, the differentiation of different cultures that played a critical power, as in the formation of the pop culture and the pop music. The resemblance of the same can be reflected through the realizations made with fashion in the ancient times and fashion today. [6: Hall, Stuart. 1993. What Is This "Black" in Black Popular Culture? Social Justice, Vol. 20, No. 1/2 (51-52), Rethinking Race (Spring-Summer 1993), pp. 104-114]

The long tradition of having to have a century of fashion does not come into play with the existence of the need to offer change and new aspects of fashion to the people. With the generation of Kanye West fashion, some relationship can be noted between this version of the old pop culture and the fashion he is proposing to the people. The season three collection has its admirable elegance and classiness. He is perhaps trying to make a point that it is possible to develop a fashion culture that is in some way related to the way of life of the people, making for its classiness and uniqueness. The fashion is directed towards one complete message, which is like that of the pop culture, as it tries to attach itself to a section of people with a common aspect of originality. Black pop culture started just like this but was out of the fashion that was dominant during those times. With the present forms of culture, it is possible to note that the season 3 collection has in itself some aspects that have to be related to the culture if a particular section of the people, and not necessarily, what is deemed fashion at its free will and desire of the people. With this, it is possible to note that a perceived transmission of the concept of fashion into somewhat a diverted meaning does not progress as with…

"In the future," said Drucker, "it was possible that all employment would be managerial in nature, and we would then have progressed from a society of labor to a society of management" (Witzel, p. 76).
