Everyone has the ability to remember and understand their dreams, it does not require specific skills or study (Dream pp). However, it is very important to keep a notebook or tape recorder by the bedside so that upon awakening, so that one can immediately journal everything that is remembered about the dream (Dream pp). Then try to identify the main theme or concept of the dream and try to match that theme or concept to a specific area of one's personal life (Dream pp).

Dreaming is considered the most outstanding of the non-ordinary conscious states (Hypnosis Psy pp). Hypno-therapists realize the value of dreams as a way of revealing information from the subconscious mind and venting blockages and frustrations as therapeutic change occurs (Betchley pp). A lesser known but highly effective aspect of dreaming is "lucid dreaming," where an individual is aware that they are dreaming while they are dreaming (Betchley pp). There are numerous cds available on the market for self-hypnosis techniques (Hypnosis pp). There are numerous sites available to learn dream techniques (Dream Control pp).

There are numerous sites available to obtain information resources concerning all areas of sleep, the physiology of sleep, clinical sleep medicine, sleep research (Sleep pp). Moreover, there are numerous sites available that include alternative and non-conventional medical systems and therapies (Alternative pp). There are also sites that discuss out of body experiences, OBE, and draw parallels between drug-induced hallucinations and the typical spontaneous OBE (Are pp).
