Emperial Edict

SOURCE of AUTHORITY to begin, I feel as the Emperor that it is essential to share with my people the source of my imperial authority. On the highest level, the power that I possess starts with the intelligence, strength and character that our creator has blessed me with, giving me the raw materials from which my authority stems. Further, the support and compliance of the people of our land has given me authority to stand before you as leader. Having established authority, I will now elaborate on the foundations of our civilization.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT of OTHER CIVILIZATIONS the creation of the form of law and government that we have today is not something that was created out of thin air, rather, it has been modeled from the great civilizations that have come before us. Our model is that of the city-state, which was perfected by the ancient Romans. This governmental model is one which features an intense focus on industry and business, the arts and culture and the system of law and order which ensures that we call can live in peace and fulfill our utmost destiny and full potential as human creatures. Additionally, as the Romans did before us, we will unite with other city-states to promote overall peace, the effective exchange of ideas, and the best situation for all of us-avoiding as many enemies as possible and building friendly bonds. Such structure in the economy and legal/military systems will afford all of us the best possibility of thriving over the long-term.

GROUPS WHO SUPPORT ME as I stated earlier, our neighboring nations are showing all indications of supporting me, and as such, supporting all of you as my people. This being said, there are other nations with which we do not have an alliance and with whom we will need to form such alliances -- the key to a thriving civilization and has been the prototype for all successful civilizations-among them the Greeks, Chinese and others. Beyond friendly support, if necessary, we will take armed action to protect our interests, which is outlined in my Foreign Policy, listed below.

MY DEMANDS I feel that my actions and talents, all utilized in the best interests of the citizens, have earned me the right to demand obedience to the law from all citizens, and also that all citizens continue to work hard, pay their fair share of taxes, and do all that they can to promote the common good. All of these demands are in fact in all of our best interests, and have been the backbone of others who have come before us.
